The Only True Book
This is something I feel I must write because so many have fallen short of what God wants them to be in their life due to this "Book" . It is called the Bible and many religions have one. Some religions add their own books to it, some take away books and some change the meaning to suit their lives. Some people are added to it and some people are taken out of it. I do not understand all of this but I do know the Bible I read, the Holy Bible, which has been translated over the years so we can understand it better. I have just been given a new Bible I requested for my birthday from my mother. She was gracious enough to give it to me. Thank you very much mom. It is called the HSBC study Bible (Holman Christian Standard Bible) God's word for Life, is written on the front of it. I read the last 15 years a NIV study Bible.(New International Version) I have also read out of the King James Version which I found easier to read after Christ had given me understanding through the Holy Spirit about Scripture. It is said in scripture that you will receive this understanding. Luke 24 v 45-49 Then He opened their minds to understand the Scriptures 46He also said to them, "This is what is written:The Messiah would suffer and rise from the dead the third day,and repentance for forgiveness of sins would be proclaimed in His name to all the nations,"beginning at Jerusalem.48You are witnesses of these things. 49And look, I am sending you what My Father promised. As for you, stay in the city until you are empowered from on high."
I do not believe any other book has these powerful words in it, that we can actually be powered by God through Jesus Christ so we can live a complete life. What do you belive happens if we keep sinning are we still forgiven? What if their is no change in us, have we been saved? What if we feel no repentance or we feel we are not forgiven because we keep doing the same things over and over again. Do you believe there is answers to these questions in the Bible. Maybe we should look at some of them. Paul answers our first question in Hebrews 10 v26 For if we deliberately sin after receiving the knowledge of the truth, there no longer remains a sacrifice for sins,27but a terrifying expectation of judgement and the fury of a fire about to consume the adversaries.28If anyone disregards Moses' law,he dies without mercy, based on the testimony of two or three witnesses. 29How much worse punishemnt do you think one will deserve who has trampled on the Son of God, regarded as profane the blood of the covenant by which he was sanctified, and insulted the Spirit of grace? For we know the One who has said, Vengeance belongs to Me,I will repay, and again, The Lord will judge His people. It is a terrifying thing to fall into the hands of the loving God! That answer I know is going to sound harsh to some but you will understand why Paul knows this, when you find out our Heavenly Father through the Bible hates sin so much. It separates us from Him and keeps us from being who He created us to be. I do not know about you but since He forgave me for all of my sins in the past and I had plenty. I try my very hardest not to sin, I try to be obedient in His eyes and try to please Him since He has forgiven me and washed me clean through His Spirit, that is the least I can do. He has given me a new since of true freedom and joy I try my best not to disappoint Him. The next question is If we do not change are we saved? 2 Corinthians 5 v 17 -21. 17Therefore, if anyone is in Christ,he is a new creation;old things have passed away, and look, new things have come. Everything is from God, who reconciled us to Himself through Christ and gave us the ministry of reconciliation: That is, in Christ, God was reconciling the world to Himself, not counting their trespasses against them, and He has committed the message of reconciliation to us. Therefore, we are ambassadors for Christ, certain that God is appealing through us. We plead on Christ's behalf, Be reconciled to God 21 He made the One who did not know sin to be sin for us, so that we might become the righteousness of God in Him. Wow! The righteousness of God in us!! How can you sin if we have the righteousness of God in us? We might not get it right away but I know through my life changing through knowing who God is and who Christ is through the Holy Spirit I am heading in the right direction day by day, getting renewed day by day. Thank you Jesus for what you have done for us!! I believe through knowing who God is we all can change to be more like Christ everyday, my life and others like me are proof of His miracle everyday! I believe if we have no repentance(return from sin and resolve to reform one's life. To feel sorry for something you have done, regret) we have no forgiveness of our sins. That is the reason John the Baptist came, Matthew 11v10 This is the one it is written about : Look, I am sending My messenger ahead of You;he will prepare Your way before You. John came first so we could repent and be forgiven, if their is no repentance there is no forgiving. I experienced this my self. When I looked at all my sin and who I was, I asked God to forgive me. It took a while for me to face all my weaknesses and sins, I was weak and had a lot of guilt and doubt of Him forgiving me. I was taken down to my knees knowing who I was and letting Him take all my quilt and doubt away. Glory be to God that He has all the power we need to become who we truly are. Thank you my Heavenly Father!! Reading my Bible has help change my life, it is one of the tools He has created for us to embrace His Spirit when His power comes through us. I hope this Helps you get started in reading your Bible, I have made faithful friends that will always be there for me. Paul, John, Mary, Martha, Moses, Abraham, Sarah, Joseph, Isaac, Jacob, Joshua and David to name a few. They have become very close to my heart. My Lord and Savior, Jesus came to me through the Holy Spirit, but I would not have ever met Him if I never read my Bible. I tell people all the time, read it until you crave it!! When you start craving it that is the Holy Spirit guiding you. I hope with all my heart that everyone will start reading their Bible through reaching out their hearts to Christ. He will revel His true self to you. May God Bless you on your new journey, many prayers, Vicki Gann
