This is one of those days that I could not help but to think how Christ hung on during all the suffering He carried. I was taught at a early age not to be pitiful but to be powerful. I was taught to learn from my mistakes and I would never make them again. I found out only through Christ teaching me through scripture and my own relationship with Him, we do not learn from ourselves, our own power, we only learn from His power in us. If we create the steps we need to take for ourselves we will never get anywhere. God picked out Jesus's parents, life and ministry for His purpose so we could all understand His love and His power in us, so we could be saved from anything that separated that love and power. We all know that anything that separates us from that love and power is sin. Just think for a moment about how much faith Jesus Christ had in His father for His life, for His purpose, for His love and for His power. I have grown this week in learning from Him how Christ stood quietly when He was asked who He was. All He did was to follow His Fathers will, He knew who He was. He did not have to prove anything, His life proved who He was. His death was to prove His life was truth in who He was, is and always will be. I have learned to be more humble and self controlling in who Christ has made me. When people say things out of pride and do not want to listen, I need to be quite and remember who I am. I do not have to tell them my point of view, God knows my point of view, that is all that matters. I have learned that they are not going to listen to me. Jesus brought me people in my life that do not listen, they have their own agendas their own purpose in mind. If you need to work on something, I promise you God will bring that very thing in your life that you need work on. I needed to work on being quiet and listen to my Heavenly Father. If you need work on patience, then you will be given relationships in your life that requires patience. If you need to work on worry, then you will be given relationships and circumstances that will require you to rely on Him more. Whether you are looking to learn from Him in all circumstances is your sign if you are being led by what He is giving you. Perseverance in His learning from His Father is what Jesus never gave up on; praying and talking to Him often. Perserverance in stayin close to Jesus in all of our circumstances is our struggle. For an example, the other day someone told me they do not like working with younger kids, He did not have enough patience for that, it would be to hard for Him to do.God gave Him this opportunity to grow in His patience but because He did not have enough, He passed up this opportunity for growth and He still does not have enough patience. Think of the wonderful relationships he passed up learning from. More importantly how many new relationships he could have shared the good news about our Savior, Jesus Christ. He also passed up on learning how to be more patience with others; his wife, his children and co-workers. This could have been a huge door God was opening up for him. This is how we grow when things are hard for us. It was hard for me to control my enthusiasm in who God was making me, I wanted to tell everyone what I had learned from Him to the point I was creating a division with others. I kept thinking God gave me a new voice I had never had before and I wanted to prove to everyone what He had gave me. We do not have to prove to anyone what God is teaching us; our lives changing, our relationships He is bringing us, our devotion to Him through all that we do is our proof. All the new abilities He has given us that we did not have before to complete His plan and purpose in our lives is proof enough. It was Jesus's proof too. He did not have to explain to anyone who He was or what God was teaching Him, He only told them what His Father told Him to say, at the right time and place. Thank you Jesus for always teaching me and guiding me through everyday learning more about who you are so I can learn more of who I am. I have grown today through learning more about your perseverance and where it comes from. We need to always look for His perseverance to learn what we need to learn. We need to perservere through what is hard for us and God's power will change it into something glorifying Him. Now that I have learned from Him to be more controlled in my enthusiasm, I can not wait for Him to give me relationships and curcumstances to prove it. I know from Him teaching me everything else that I am, I will grow closer to Him because of it, and what is more glorious than that! Remember, look for Him always in your daily lives in what He is teaching you through His love for you!
