Dwelling with Christ
Colossians 3 v 16
Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly as you teach
and admonish one another with all
wisdom and as you sing psalms, hymns
and spiritual songs with gratitude in your hearts
If you are not teaching and admonishing one another is the word of Christ richly dwelling in you? God's word does not say if you teach and admonish or if you sing psalms, hymns and spiritual songs. His word says as you teach and admonish and as you sing psalms. When you let the word of Christ dwell in you richly you will teach and admonish with all His wisdom. You can not help it; His word becomes a part of you, it is one of His desires He gives you. If you do not have this desire then I do not believe the word of Christ is dwelling in you richly. Jesus also told us to go into all the world and preach the good news to all creation. He went further and told us what signs will accompany those that believe. This does not mean a few, this means all that believe. Mark 16 v 15-17 He said to them, "Go into all the world and preach the good news to all creation.16Whoever believes and is baptized will be saved, but whoever does not believe will be condemned. 17 and these signs will accompany those who believe: In my name they will drive out demons; they will speak in new tongues;18they will pick up snakes with their hands;and when they drink deadly poison, it will not hurt them at all; they will place their hands on sick people, and they will get well. What keeps us from believing we are given all that He is within us? God tells us many times that we have been given the fullness of god through His son Jesus Christ but we do not want to believe His power, we would rather stay where we are. God's word says this through Paul in Colossians 2 v 9 For in Christ all the fullness of the Deity lives in bodily form19 and you have been given fullness in Christ, who is the head over every power and authority. Gods word in Ephesians, my favorite prayer in the Bible, 3 v 14 - 19 For this reason I kneel before the Father, 15from whom his whole family in heaven and on earth derives its name 16 I pray that out of his glorious riches he may strengthen you with power through his Spirit in your inner being, 17 so that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith. And I pray that you, being rooted and established in love, 18 may have power, together with all the saints, to grasp how wide and long and high and deep is the love of Christ, 19 and to know this love that surpasses knowledge-that you may be filled to the measure of all the fullness of God. Every believer has this given to them but for some reason we hold back his power because we have doubt, fear or unbelief. We let the storm take over our lives or we step like Peter on the water to walk to Jesus and we look at what is around us and we do not focus on Him. What ever your reasons, ask yourself what is holding you back. Always try and work out your salvation so Christ can work His miracles in. Philippians 2 v 12 Therefore, my dear friends, as you have always obeyed-not only in my presence, but now much more in my absence-continue to work out your salvation with fear and trembling, 13 for it is God who works in you to will and to act according to his good purpose. When we admonish one another, we do not need to do it harshly or make them feel guiltier that they already are, but we do need to encourage them through the power of Christ. We do not need to act like we are better than anyone else. We did not have anything to begin with why act as if we did. Everything we have has been given to us through the Holy Spirit. We are not right, God is the one that is right and our wisdom comes from Him. We are not good, it is God that makes us good. We do not love in the right way, it is God that teaches us to love others in the right way. Every thing we have has been given to us and all have an invitation to receive it. Help one anther by giving Christ all the glory in who He has made you to be. Galatians 6 v 1 Brothers, if someone is caught in a sin, you who are spiritual should restore him gently. 2 Carry each other's burdens, and in this way you will fulfill the law of Christ.3 If anyone thinks he is something when he is nothing, he deceives himself. 4 Each one should test his own actions. Then he can take pride in himself, without comparing himself to somebody else, 5 for each one should carry his own load. 9 Let us not become weary in doing good, for alt the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up. 10 Therefore, as we have opportunity, let us do good to all people, especially to those who belong to the family of believers. Remember always we have to remain in the word so you may remain in Christ. He is our only true life teacher. John 15 v 7 If you remain in me and my words remain in you, ask whatever you wish, and it will be given to you.8This is to my Father's glory, that you bear much fruit, showing yourselves to be my disciples. Being a disciple means we are His students, learners of the word and His way of life through those words. If we are learners of His word then they are richly dwelling in us. We are going to remain in them and if we remain in His word then we will always remain in Him, He will never leave us. We will be one with Christ. When we ask in His name we are within Him and He is within us, because we are asking in His name, this means we are Him. If we are not one with Him, we are not asking in His name. His name is just like any other name to us. When you say, "I asked this or I pray this in the name of Jesus Christ", are you one with Christ, if you are not then how are you going to receive what you are asking for? Go back and look at what He is teaching you and what you are holding back so you can receive what He has for you, and what you are asking for. As always these are His words given to me for helping me and others to know Him better. My wish for everyone is to experience a full life of what Christ wants you to experience so you may experience the fullness of Christ. This is the only way you are going to know who you are!
