Living out and guarding God's love, Paul's letter to Timothy

Living Out and Guarding God's Love
A Bible Study of
Paul's letter to Timothy

God loves us just the way we are... lost, confused, and sinful. He loves us when we continue to be prideful, shameful, having lust and wanting to covet all that the sinful nature in us wants to desire. We are all this but He still loves us, He loves us enough not to want us to stay this way. This amazing grace which is the love of God through the mercy He has for us, was given to us before time began in Jesus Christ being the Son of God. Grace has been revealed to us from the appearing of our Savior, Christ Jesus, coming in the flesh who has destroyed death and has brought life and immortality to light through the gospel.  The love God has for us has been given to us like a deposit we can always draw from. The worth of that deposit has been paid in full by His blood of love, we are healed. The deposit we draw from grace, the love of God, will last us here on earth and take us to heaven, we will never die. We have become immortal through that deposit of love we draw on through out our life. We guard our love which is our deposit by having faith in Him giving us what we need for completing  His purpose in making His love known to others.

Being true children of God we will proclaim that love but guard it by enduring suffering from the world that do not accept His grace while we are pouring it out to others. The Holy Spirit helps us, it is not a timid spirit but a spirit of power, of love and self-discipline. We are not given a spirit that allows us to have fear and be ashamed to testify. We will be left feeling alone many times because others do not understand this love we have been given through Jesus Christ. This amazing grace which leads us and compels us to do all things for the one that created it. Our spirit is dead to anything else but His grace. If our spirit died with him, our spirit will also live with him. If we endure as He endured, we also will reign with him. If we disown his love we will be disowning him, and he will also disown us. If we are faithless, he will remain faithful because He is faithful never leaving us or forsaking us, he can not disown himself, always waiting for us to love Him and turn to Him for our salvation.

While we live out God's love and grace will be doing our best to present ourselves to our God and Savior as one approved by Him to compete His purpose and not be ashamed. We will be living out God's love through the Holy Spirit, someone  who correctly handles the word of truth. We will be aware of godless chatter and avoid it because we know to much of it will lead to more of it, and we will be less than what God intends us to be. We know He will not use us in spreading His grace and purpose and we will wander away from the truth.
God always knows us and knows we are truly his because we have turned away from wickedness and all that the wicked spirit desires.

We know God uses everything in the world to make Himself known. Our lives are used for His purpose to be known. We know we have a choice for God to use us and our life for ignoble purposes where our life will be without true love and peace to show how miserable we are without him. We know we may be fine on the outside but on the inside we will be rotting away with anger, jealousy, pride and crave what satisfies our wants and be missing what we truly need. We know He can also use us by using our lives with giving us our new desires of the Holy Spirit which pursues righteousness, faith, love and peace, along with those who call on the Lord out of a pure heart. We will be wanting desperately to be around people pursing the same things we are pursuing not by our own works or desires but the desires given to you by the gift of  the Holy Spirit. When we are guided by the Spirit of God we will be kind and loving to everyone and not resentful, we know we will be defeating His purpose to be used by us if we are resentful. We know not be afraid of the truth, we know their will be people to oppose us we must gently instruct them hoping God will grant them repentance leading them to a knowledge of the truth and come to their senses and escape from the trap of Satan who has taken them captive to do his will.

These last days are becoming closer upon us, people are lovers of themselves, lovers of money, boastful, proud and abusive, lovers of pleasures instead of lovers of God, they may have a form of godliness but denying it's power. There are those that are going to start compromising to please others and themselves instead of pleasing God. People are going to start pleasing the messengers instead of the message.  They are going to be people learning but never able to acknowledge the truth, because they are being deceived. They have no faith and without faith you can not please God and they will be rejected.

We however know the true and loving God that has come from the Holy Spirit within us through our way of life and our purpose and the way of life and purpose by the one who told us. We know all about our patience, faith, love, endurance, persecutions, suffering and all kinds of things that have happened to each of us but God has rescued us from all of them. We accept that everyone that is living out God's love will be persecuted, while evil men and impostors will go from bad to worse, deceiving and being deceived. As for us we will continue in what we have learned because we are fully convinced through the Holy Spirit, because we know those from whom we learned it. More importantly we know the scriptures and live by them that are made by the Holy Spirits breath and is always  useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness so that we, true children of God, may be thoroughly equipped for every good work.

In the view of Jesus Christ and who He is and by His appearing and judging what we do I give you this responsibility: Preach the word; preach it in church and out of church. When you have become a workman approved by God, He will give you a strong desire to correct, rebuke and encourage-with great patience and careful instruction. When people refuse us, and they will, because in todays time people are not living by the word of truth, instead they will gather around them a great number of teachers to say what they want to hear. We true children of God must keep our head by using the gift of self-control in all situations.  We will have to endure hardships of people turning us away because they do not have ears for the truth. We must do the work of an evangelist discharge all the duties of our ministry given to us. Our ministry maybe in our own families, our neighborhood, or churches, our government, our schools, our jobs or around the world. We all have a ministry of being prepared to correct, rebuke, encourage with great patience and careful instruction the love and truth of our God and Savior. Our spirit testifies with the Holy Spirit that we will fight the good fight with the deceiving spirits. We will continue to  finish this race of life we are in with living out and guarding His love and we will keep the faith that He has freely given us.

The Lord will rescue us from every evil attack, and stand by our side even though we may be deserted by many. He will strengthen us so through us the message of His love might be fully proclaimed and all might hear it.  He will bring us safely to His heavenly kingdom. He loves us the way we are but He loves us enough not to want us to stay that way  and to truly live.  To Him be gory for ever and ever. Read 2 Timothy

Many prayers,
Vicki Gann
