Good morning! Grace and peace to you from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ. Romans 1v7
We are testing ourselves today with God's definition of fervor, or fervent.
Romans 12v11 Never be lacking in zeal, but keep your spiritual fervor, serving the Lord.
The Holy Spirit gives us all we need for this life. The Holy Spirit is God himself in us, and through God himself being in us we have been given the same authority has Jesus had to proclaim and teach the gospel when we receive Him. (For in Christ all the fullness of the Deity lives in bodily form v 10 and you have been given fullness in Christ, who is the head over every power and authority)There are two kinds of fire that God talks about in the Bible one goes on burning with out any relief, which we want to put out, it is the fire we feel when we choose hell over Heaven.( Mark 9v43 If your hand causes you to sin, cut it off. It is better for you to enter life maimed than with two hands to go into hell, where the fire never goes out.) When we choose hell we choose to quench our sinful nature instead the desires of the Holy Spirit. The other fire is the fire of the Holy Spirit that creates the fervor or fervent in us that never burns out as long as we feed the desires of the Holy Spirit, we do not want this fire to go out. With this fire remaining in us we will always have passion and fervor in serving the Lord and experience our abundant life of undisturbed peace He wants to give us. We will never grow tired or weary along as we feed this fire. When we say, "Jesus is Lord" we will be given new desires to quench the thirst of the Holy Spirit that is now guiding our lives, all we have to do is believe by receiving those new desires we are given. Our thirst from the Holy Spirit will be quenched and our fire will always glow by the light of Jesus Christ guiding us. (Luke 3v16 John answered them all, "I baptize you with water. But one more powerful than I will come, the thongs of whose sandals I am not worthy to untie. He will baptize you with the Holy Spirit and with fire.) This fire from the Holy Spirit Paul calls fervor or fervent depending on the Bible translation you are reading, means very hot, glowing marked by great intensity of feeling, impassioned, and fiery. If you are experiencing this fervor or fire then go with it and do not put out the fire of the Holy Spirit by being disobedient, doubtful or have fear. (1 Thessalonians 5v19 Do not put on the Spirit's fire, v20 do not treat prophecies with contempt.) Paul goes on and says, if it is possible, meaning it is not always possible, as far as it depends on us, we that live by the Holy Spirit should live at peace with everyone. Others may not have peace but we should. We should treat our enemies with love, if he is hungry, feed him; if he is thirsty, give him something to drink. (Proverbs 25v 21,22) If we live by the Holy Spirit then we will not be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good. Read Romans 12 and Thessalonians 5) I love everyone with the love Christ gives me for you!
