Good afternoon! Grace and peace to you from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ. Romans 1v7
Today we are testing ourselves with God's definition of "humble".
James 4v6 God opposes the proud but gives grace to the humble"
Grace has been with us since time began and Grace has never changed. When you look back and see who received grace, which is the love and mercy of God, in the word of God it was always given to someone that had humbled themselves and submitted their lives to God. When we humble ourselves we receive enough grace to overcome anything this world throws at us. There will be no boasting about what we have accomplished within ourselves because everything that has been done within us as been done by the Lord, because we did humble ourselves and submit to Him.(James 3v13 Who is wise and understanding among you? Let him show it by his good life, by deeds done in the humility that comes from wisdom) When we come near to God we come with an sincere heart out of love and admiration we have for Him in who He is, the Great I am. I am the strength you do not have, I am the patience you do not have, I am the joy, peace and love you do not have. God is a jealous God and He does not want to share us with anyone above Him, including ourselves in our own pride. Our best is God's worst enemy. Our best is Satan's favorite tool, He doesn't have to do anything because our pride does it for Him. As long as we have pride in our own accomplishments and our own abilities God can not work in us, that is why He will give us more grace to humble us. More of His mercy and love that will over take our pride in ourselves when we humble ourselves to the Lord He will always lift us up! When we quarrel and fight we are giving the devil a stronghold so He can create a division among us. We should know that friendship with the world and that includes putting ourselves before the Lord, makes us an enemy of God. This includes boasting about where we go and what we do in the world. Because all we receive comes from the Lord and it is by His will that we live and do this and that. When we judge (condemn) someone that means we are going to feel bitterness toward them and if we are bitter there is no love of Christ in us. Discerning what is right and wrong is not condemning someone if we are loving them enough to save them with love in our hearts, we are worshiping our Lord in truth. ( But if you harbor bitter envy and selfish ambition in your hearts, do not boast about it or deny the truth v15 Such "wisdom" does not come down from heaven but is earthly, unspiritual, of the devil) We love as He loves, loving others enough to where He can change them. Condemning and judging someone brings them down but loving them through Christ saves them and He brings them up through us! First we have to get the blank out of our own eye before we can see the speck in our brothers eye and we see when we become humble and do not deny the truth. (Matthew 7v5 You hypocrite, first take the plank out of your own eye, and then you will see clearly to remove the speck from your brother's eye.)( Read James 3 and 4 and Matthew 7) I love you with the love Christ gives me for you!
