Good afternoon! Grace and peace to you from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ. Romans 1v7
Today we are testing ourselves with God's definition of "live".
1 John 3v24 Those who obey his commands live in him, and he in them. And this is how we know it by the Spirit he gave us.
He has given the Spirit of Grace to all of us when He died for us on the cross, but for those that don't believe in Him they will never know the power of His love that is living in them.
If we are living by the law or through our own flesh which is still by the law and the written code, we are not truly living. If we are trying to be all that God wants us to be by our own works or by our own flesh we will never be changed into what He wants us to be. If we are counting on ourselves for our salvation we will never experience the undisturbed peace or be full of joy when we are faced with challenges of life. We have true joy because we know His power of grace in us will be revealed and we can overcome. Without grace we will never know the unending hope and love that holds us together and makes us complete; not lacking anything that we need for this life. Christ died so we could truly live.( Romans 6v3 Or don't you know that all of us who were baptized into Christ Jesus were baptized into his death) He alone is our salvation, our stronghold, our fortress, our protector, and our redeemer. We are dead to sin meaning we are dead to self because ourselves are unspiritual because we were sold as a slave to sin. (Romans 7v14 We know that the law is spiritual; but I am unspiritual, sold as a slave to sin.) We have been crucified with Christ, meaning our sinful nature and our moral natural goodness is not good enough to sustain us, we can't carry it out. He gives us the fire of Holy Spirit that makes us strive to be Holy as He is Holy so we can experience an abundant life here on earth. Now if we died with Christ then we also will be raised from the dead and we also live with Him because He lives in us through the life He gives us in the Holy Spirit. Our lives are not our own, we now live to please God, this is how our faith grows out of the love we have for Him. We can stop our growth or our sanctification at anytime by being disobedient with unbelief, pride or fear. By the Holy Spirit given to us as a promised gift we now have new desires to please our Father, we should be acting as those that have been brought from death to life. We should be offering ourselves to God as a sacrifice to be used by Him for His instruments of righteousness. Sin should not master us any longer because we are not under law but under a new command; under grace. We operate under God's grace which is God's love and mercy we receive when we accept Him as our Lord, meaning we give Him full reign over our lives so we can truly live! We have one command that we live by and it is given to us through the gift of the Spirit, (1 John 3v23 And this is his command:to believe in the name of his Son, Jesus Christ, and to love one another as he commanded us.) If we truly believe in Jesus Christ He will be Lord over our lives and we will have the Spirit of love that can not be separated from us, that enables us to love others the right way and we will truly live! ( Read 1 John 3 and Romans 6, 7 and 8.) I truly love everyone with the love Christ gives me for you!
