I am dedicating this devotional today to a very dear friend of mine that I have not known very long but she has touched my life in a way that only God and those that know Him can understand. Her name is Melanie Rowe she has had many obstacles in her life and she is a dear sweet new sister of mine in Christ's love. Her lamp may grown dim at times but it has never stopped burning and now it is burning brighter and brighter. I will cherish her Spirit the rest of my life, thank you Father for giving me the eyes to see, the ears to hear and the heart to follow you each and every day of my life, you get all the glory and praise!
Good afternoon! Grace and peace to you from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ. Romans 1v7
Today we are testing ourselves with God's definition of "turns".
Psalm 18v28 You, O LORD, keep my lamp burning; my God turns my darkness into light.
We face many obstacles in our life time, some more than others. We may have financial trouble, sickness, loose a job or a home, experience a death of a loved one and experience betrayal from family and friends. Some us have one obstacle to get over some have many, but we all have or will experience and obstacle in our life time. When we trust in God, we know His way is perfect, we know His word is flawless, we know and believe we can advance against any obstacle life may throw at us. We love Him, We know and believe he is our strength, our fortress and our deliverer. He can turn any dark experience into a glowing light. He can keep us with our light burning in darkness. He can turn our sorrow into unending joy. He is our shield, it is Him that makes our way perfect.( John 16v22 So with you: Now is your time of grief, but I will see you again and you will rejoice, and no one will take away your joy.) With the Holy Spirit living in us we will always look at things differently, we ask for things we need in a different way. (John 16v24 Until now you have not asked for anything in my name. Ask and you will receive, and your joy will be complete.) Have we gotten to the place in our lives where we believe we receive what ever we ask for today and every day after, even though it maybe here tomorrow? Do we show enough faith in our God when darkness comes that we believe in things that are not seen as though they are. Do we look at darkness as a chance and an opportunity to see His light shine brighter than the darkness. Do we show our lamp still burning brighter, no matter how dark it may seam around us, because we trust in Him turning the darkness into His shining and bright light? This is who our God is for those of us that believe, our God turns our darkness into light. (Read Psalm 18 and John 16) I love everyone with the love Christ gives me for you!
