Good afternoon! Grace and peace to you from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ. Romans 1v7
Today we are testing ourselves with God's definition of "confident"
Psalm 27v3 Though an army besiege me, my heart will not fear; though war break out against me, even then will I be confident.
David always had faith in God but He always did not please Him. He never gave up wanting to please Him and always regretted when He did not. David is a perfect example of us not having to have confidence in our flesh any longer.(Philippians 3v3 For it is we who are the circumcision, we who worship by the Spirit of God, who glory in Christ Jesus, and who put no confidence in the flesh) David always had confidence in God protecting him and saving him when ever He was troubled. David never stopped seeking God and His presence even when God was angry with Him he wanted God's forgiveness, and David always repented. We have the Holy Spirit living in us and get to communicate with God ourselves due to Jesus sacrificing Himself for us. When we receive the Holy Spirit we do not have to have confidence in our flesh any longer to be what God wants us to be, we have confidence and faith in Jesus Christ. We know and believe we can dwell in the house of the Lord forever because the Holy Spirit in us confirms it along with His word of truth. We are confident in seeing the goodness of the Lord, we are confident He will never forsake us and hide His face from us because we will never leave Him. We will be heartbroken if we displease Him, because we love Him above all else. We are confident in being His child and Him being our Father and Lord of our lives. We know our righteousness does not come from our flesh it comes from the Holy Spirit which is God. (Luke 18v9 To some who were confident of their own righteousness and looked down on everybody else, Jesus told this parable.) Read Psalm 27, Philippians 3 and Luke 18) I love everyone with the love Christ gives me for you!
