Are we compromising our relatonship with the Lord because of who we are in alliance with?

May 28
Good morning! Grace and peace to you from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ. Romans 1v7
Today we are testing ourselves with God's definition of alliance.
2 Chronicles 20v35 Later, Jehoshaphat king of Judah made an alliance with Ahaziah king of Israel, who was guilty of wickedness.
Later means after King Jehoshaphat had been faithful to God, He later changed his direction and compromised His relationship with the Lord by being in alliance with an unbeliever. He made plans and had a relationship with an unbeliever so He could accomplish what He desired. Sometimes we go a head of God by not thinking with His wisdom given to us in making decisions for our future, or the people we associate with. Our selves, our families and our country can fall into this temptation when it seams so much easier to follow someone that seams to have it all together with worldly possessions and their desires met by evil means. Desires met by people choosing their own path may seam inviting to us and very tempting. Some Christians make a dangerous compromise and forget the importance of the Cross in how God saved us from such decision making and we compromise. Remember we are children of God to influence them and trying to persuade them in making better decisions through the love of Christ given to them on the cross. Unbelievers do not influence us in going backwards or going in a different direction than the love and peace we receive from the Holy Spirit. We follow Grace and the love and peace of God, we do not follow unbelievers in their lives tempting us in the wrong direction. When we compromise or make alliance with unbelievers we are hindering God's work in us, He can not work His promises in us when we are going in another direction other than His one and only direction of the cross of Christ. We love them and show them the love of Christ but our closest relationship is with Him and all others that do the will of God in their lives. (Mark 3v35 Whoever does God's will is my brother and sister and mother) True Children of God love everyone enough for them not to stay that way, meaning we never condone or accept their sin as it defining who they are, just as Jesus Christ did we will do from His power given to us through the Holy Spirit. (2 Corinthians 6v14 Do not be yoked together with unbelievers. For what do righteousness and wickedness have in common? Or what fellowship can light have with darkness?) The only fellowship we have with darkness is wanting to remove it from ourselves and then to help others remove theirs. We were not created to be in alliance with it. (Read 2 Chronicles 20 and 2 Corinthians 6 along with Mark 3) I love everyone with the love Christ gives me for you!
Many prayers,
Vicki Gann
