Good afternoon! Grace and peace to you from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ.
Today we are testing ourselves with God's definition of heart.
2 Corinthians 9v7 Each man should give what he has decides in his heart to give, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver.
If we are giving to God to get from God then I believe it is under compulsion that we are giving because we are expecting something in return. We seek more the blessing from our Creator more than our relationship from our Creator. The KJV says out of necessity. If our reason for giving is out of our own necessity because we need help with our finances then all we will receive it what we need. If we give freely out of faith in Him expressing itself through love then we will be sowing generously and we will reap generously. Our sowing comes from the love we have for Him. We sow with what ever means He gives us. It may be through money, time, speech, or deeds. These are all sowing in the service out of the love we have for Him. God then, out of our cheerful heart expressing itself through faith and love for Him, will make all grace abound to us so that in all things at all times, we will have all that we need and we will abound in every good work. When we give out of faith expressing itself through love we have for Him we will be made rich in every way so that we can be generous on every occasion, and through us our generosity will result in thanksgiving to God. This service we perform is not only supplying the needs of God's people but is also overflowing in many expressions of thanks to God! Because of how we have proved ourselves through loving Him by faith in Him, men will praise God for the obedience that accompanies our confession of the gospel of Christ, and for our generosity in sharing with them and with everyone else. Many churches today base their obedience of giving on what we give in money and not what is in our hearts. Many churches today base what people give to the church as being aloud to be active in the church or not. In some churches, if you do not give what the church commands which is out of compulsion, then you have no part in the church. Some churches today base their gifts on giving to the church out of duty to the church, then the church will give permission for you to grow in that church. This means those that love Jesus first and foremost can not be a part of the church until they give what the "church commands" you to give. When we love others as Jesus Christ loves others, people will give, not they give first then we love them. When we have received the grace of giving we will not only give what the command of the church requires but we give of ourselves in all ways God provides for us to give. (2 Corinthinas 9v9 "He has scattered abroad his gifts to the poor; his righteousness endures forever") The giving comes from the love, not the love comes from the giving. Because we have shared through God's grace of giving we will receive His gifts and blessings. We are not giving reluctantly, or under compulsion or out of our own necessity. Giving the way God wants us to give comes from Him, not a law or a command but by His heart of love given to us through the Holy Spirit. The people that receive our gift of grace, their hearts will go out to us in prayer, because of the surpassing grace God has given us. We all will be in unity saying, "Thanks be to God for his indescribable gift! If we want our churches to change in their giving then we need to change our hearts and receive His grace of giving. People in our past gave with out receiving true peace and love, and people today still give without receiving true peace and love. We need to love others freely and let them share freely what God has given them with no rules, attachments or requirements. God will handle the requirements, and then our churches will grow in the right and the most excellent way, through His love! ( Read 2 Corinthians 8 and 9)I love everyone with the grace of giving that He has given me for you!
