Good morning! Grace and peace to you from our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ.
Today I am dedicating my devotional to a dear friend that God led me to when I needed and ask for someone and He was the answer to my prayer, and of course God always goes beyond all that we ask for and this person was surely that. He is moving and I am going to miss seeing him in person but His spirit of love for God and people will never leave me. Thank you God for this amazing child of yours your brought in my life when I needed him most. Through knowing Mr. Duke Alkire I have become to know you Father more and more.
We are testing our selves today with God's definition of imitate.
Hebrews 13v7 Remember your leaders, who spoke the word of God to you. Consider the outcome of their way of life and imitate their faith.
This scripture does not tell us to imitate someone that is old in age, that is a "religious person" that goes to church every time the doors are open, that live by causes, principals of the world, rules or regulations. It does not tell us to imitate those that proclaim themselves as righteous by their own works or rely on people to tell them how great they are. It does not say to imitate those that speak the word of God but do not live the word of God. It does not say to imitate people that worry, doubt, have fear, and are defined by their circumstances or experiences they have in relationships. It does say to imitate the leaders that spoke the word of God to us, because each one of us have been given gifts and purposes to fulfill His plan in our lives. It says to remember them and consider their way of life, and to imitate their faith. These leaders can be any age, any culture, any race, any gender, from any environment with any past as long as the speak the word of God through faith because of their out come of life. They are overcomers because they have overcome the world because they had faith in God to make them overcomers by their way of life changing everyday. Young people can have a terrible start in life, we do not get to pick where we are born or when we will die. They can have a life to overcome at a early age. They can have just has much faith in our Savior and become a leader just as much as a elder has lived a life and overcome through faith. Faith is a gift given to anyone that believes, and by faith in our Savior Jesus Christ our Lord we know He will never leave us or forsake us, He is our helper. We say all this with confidence because we are not afraid and we know no man can hurt us, and we have faith in Him delivering us from all evil. We do not get carried away by strange teachings of the world no matter how well they speak or talk about what they know. We know the truth by our out come of our way of life and by what the Holy Spirit of truth gives us because we do have faith in our Lord being our Lord of our lives providing us with everything we need. This person God sent me through an answered prayer, Duke Alikre, believes in and loves our Father in Heaven as I do. He believes with no hesitation in God making us who we are everyday through each relationship and circumstance we face, the image of Christ, and with no question only submitting to walking in faith in Him everyday of His life leading him to knowing more of who God is within him so Jesus Christ can work through Him to make Himself known for others. This is what we are imitating, each others faith, so we can build each other up in the fullness of Christ. (Ephesians 4v12-13 to prepare God's people for works of service, so that the body of Christ may be built up 13) until we all reach unity in the faith and in the knowledge of the Son of God and become mature, attaining the whole measure of the fullness of Christ.) Mature in the knowledge of the Son of God does not mean mature in age it means mature in faith so we can receive the knowledge of Christ. So for us today we imitate their faith because we consider the outcome of their way of life and that can be anyone that has faith growing in God changing them everyday! Read Hebrews 13 and Ephesians 4
