Good afternoon! Grace and peace to you from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ. Today we are testing ourselves with God's definition of work. John 6v27 Do not work for food that spoils, but for the food that endures to eternal life, which the Son of Man will give you. On him God the Farther has placed his seal of approval. The work we do that means anything is to believe in Jesus Christ. If we have faith in Him making us all we need to be because God is pleased with Him in who He is by having faith in Jesus Christ we too will be approved and have his seal of approval through the gift of the Holy Spirit to guide and direct us. When we work for someone or for ourselves in the world, we should in our mind think we are working for Christ in this area also. Each work we do should be to service someone else through glorifying who God is making us to be. If you are a police officer the way you treat people should glorify who God is making you to be. If you work in insurance each time you service someone it should be glorifying who God is making you to be. If you are a school teacher, doctor, auto technician, grocery or retail store clerk and every other job you might have. We have to endure what ever the other person dishes out so His power in our weakness of wanting to react in another way, will be evident in who He is making us to be. When our patience is wearing thin at our job we should look to Him in giving us His patience every time until His patience gets so common in us we do not have to ask, His patience will be what is natural in us. This should be evident in all areas of our work life. It will always be to hard for us when we rely on ourselves to accomplish what He is asking of us. He gives us enough grace, wisdom, understanding, joy, hope, strength to accomplish all of what He is asking of us to do or be, and remember He is very patient with us as we are with each other who love Him. Do not let your hearts be troubled by the troubled world, be of good cheer, He has overcome the world! We continue to encourage and lift up His power in each one of us not giving in to our weaknesses. (Colossians 3v23 Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for men.) When we think about our work in the world (work that is lawful)we are doing a service for someone else, and when we have the mind of Christ we will be working and doing things for Him as though everyone we work for is Him. This way we will be acknowledging Him in all of our ways and each day will be blessed more than the other as we grow in Him. Read Colossians 3 and John 6. I love everyone with the love God gives me for you! |
