Good morning! Grace and peace to you from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ.
Today we are testing ourselves with God's definition of word.
Deuteronomy 30v14 No, the word is very near you; it is in your mouth and in your heart so you may obey it.
In the Old Testament God commanded the Israelites, which is us today, to love the Lord, to walk in His ways and to keep His commands. They had to obey all the law and its commands. Everything was up to them to be what God wanted them to be. He gave us a choice life or death. If they loved God above all else and by loving Him they would obey all His commands and enjoy a prosperous life by walking in His ways. It was all up to them to be what God wanted them to be and still today we are all trying to be what God wants us to be, we are missing grace by not having Faith in Jesus Christ making us to be all that we can be. They failed over and over again because they were not made to be Holy and pure, they were made good and then sin came into our creation and sin over powers our good. Every generation without FAITH in our Lord and Savior making us to be what He created us to be is creating death to reign instead of life. He died on the cross for that purpose, to give us life here on earth into Heaven. He has defeated all death in us, death to sin into never dying and reigning with Him in Heaven. We can choose to believe now and live a prosperous Godly life walking in His ways, right before we die, or never choosing, the choice is always going to be ours. He knows when we will make the choice of life or death. He is patient with us wanting us to always call on Him to be our Savior. God could only cleanse us from our sins and give us a new life through the Holy Spirit and create in us His righteousness. We have a new word, FAITH, not we obey by what we do, but we have FAITH in Jesus Christ creating in us what He can do. His grace teaches us to say no to ungodliness. (Romans 10v8 But what does it say? "The word is near you; it is in your mouth and in your heart," that is the word of faith we are proclaiming: v 9 That if you confess with your mouth, "Jesus is Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead you will be saved.) People today do not know the righteousness of God because they are establishing their own, Christ is the end of the law, so that there may be righteousness for everyone who believes. Moses in Deuteronomy described righteousness that came by the law. "The man who does these things will live by them." It was through their own works, we still live by the law today and not by FAITH in Jesus Christ. We can not and were not made to fulfill God's righteousness. The plan God created through Jesus Christ enables us to receive the righteousness that God requires because it is His not ours. All we have to do is confess Jesus Christ is our Lord and our lives should proclaim it by the fruit we possess by bringing good news of His salvation to all that want to receive it. All God's promises in Deuteronomy are still the same because through believing in Jesus Christ making us who we are we know in our hearts we can love Him, we can obey Him and we can walk in all His ways because it is the Holy Spirit doing it for us; our God and our Savior sanctifying us everyday to be more of His image until our death or our Savior returns. We as Christians are getting away from FAITH in our Lord, the new word with a better promise, that creates our new creature we become; true children of God. I love everyone through the love God gives me for you! Read Deuteronomy 30 and Romans 10
