Good evening! Grace and peace to you from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ.
Today we are testing ourselves with God's definition genuine.
1 Peter 1v7 These have come so that your faith-of greater worth than gold, which perishes even though refined by fire-may be proved genuine and may result in praise, glory and honor when Jesus Christ is revealed. (NIV) the (KJV) That the trial of your faith, being much more precious than of gold that perisheth, though it be tried with fire, might be found unto praise and honor and glory at the appearing of Jesus Christ.
The words, proved genuine, or the words, found unto praise, mean the same thing. If Jesus Christ praises your faith and gives it honor and glory when He appears means that your faith would be proved to be genuine. This is what God is saying is the reason for all of our trails and heaviness of heart because He is testing our faith and we are proving to Him it is genuine because we want to please Him through the Holy Spirit living within us. He will be able to praise our faith and give it honor because it is by His power that our faith is being increased. It is because we love Him and we do not see Him, we believe in Him and are filled with inexpressible and glorious joy, we are receiving the goal of our faith the salvation of our souls! The reason we are chosen to be the elect is we believe and love Him above everyone and every thing because we are full of the Holy Spirit and pleasing what ever the Holy Spirit desires. God knew this long ago and through His foreknowledge He chose those that received the sanctifying work of the Spirit which is obedience to Jesus Christ and sprinkling by his blood. The elect are those that continually deny their selves everyday by Faith in Jesus Christ, and receive all that the Spirit wants them to have, their faith has been proven to be genuine. Those that live by the Holy Spirit their hope never dies it is increasing living Hope that we glorify God with everyday through out our lives.
(Corinthians 15 v31 I die everyday-I mean that, brothers-just as surely as I glory over you in Christ Jesus our Lord) I love everyone with the love God gives me for you! Read 1 Corinthians 15 and 1 Peter 1)
