Good morning! Grace and peace to you from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ.
Today we are testing ourselves with God's definition of holiness.
Hebrews 12v14 Make every effort to live in peace with all men and to be holy, without holiness no one can see the Lord.
Amen! Some people today pursue peace without the holiness, you have to have both or there is not going to be true peace accompanied by His strength in all that we do. We will so get weary and tired, or we will not receive the true peace He can only give us, that grows with faith, hope and love. It is His peace we are pursuing it is not our own given to us by our own way or based on our own understanding of who God is by living the way we want to. We have to deny ourselves to become the holiness of God and have faith in Jesus Christ as our LORD and Savior not faith in ourselves. It is not hard for us to be at peace with people when we do not deny ourselves, we will not be getting involved in God's business, we will only be concerned with our business and receive peace from the world. ( John 14v27 Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid.)Then and only then when our sinful nature has been crucified, can we pursue His peace and be making every effort to live in peace because it is Him and only Him that is truly holy working through us. We do not want to be someone like Esau, who for a single meal sold his inheritance. Are we giving up our inheritance for something else we desire? Are we pursuing our own understanding of God's will in our life by being a "religious" person not worshiping in Spirit and truth, which is not worshiping in true holiness? When we refuse God we are opening a door to go our own way like Esau and Able. Our on way may seem right to us at the time, but it may lead us in a direction God does not want us to go in. (Proverbs 14v12 There is a way that seems right to a man, but in the end it leads to death.)
We have not come to a God with words we cannot bear, because we cannot bear what has been commanded to us. We do not bear anything any longer because we have faith in Him our Lord Jesus Christ bearing everything for us. We have faith in His comfort joy and peace, by the gift of the Holy Spirit. He is making us in His image every day we give ourselves to Him in faith. We have come to the church of the firstborn, whose names are written in heaven. We have come to God, the judge of all men, to the spirits of righteous men made perfect. We have come to Jesus the mediator of a new covenant, and to the sprinkled blood that speaks a better word than the blood of Able and the word of Esau. Thank you Father for the gift of your Son so we can live the life you predestined for us! You Father get all the glory and the praise! I love everyone with the love God gives me for you!
