Good afternoon! Grace and peace to you from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ.
Today we are testing ourselves through God's definition of impossible.
Hebrews 11v6 And without faith it is impossible to please God, because anyone who comes to him must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who earnestly seek him.
This could be the only thing God says and it would be enough for us to go on receiving more and more of Him each day. We all know God can do the impossible if we know Him by having faith in who He is. We can have faith as big as a mustard seed and it will move a mountain, and calm down any storm. When we come to God we have to truly believe He exists and have a earnest mind to find Him. Their are all kinds of things that can hinder our minds from earnestly seeking Him. Earnest means serious intent and sober minded. This means nothing else can be in our way, a strong devotion of only knowing Him grows our faith daily.( Philemon 1v6 I pray that you may be active in sharing your faith, so that you will have a full understanding of every good thing we have in Christ) We can have many reasons we are not receiving a full understanding of His rewards of His promises and blessings in our life. If we give of ourselves only to get, then we are only seeking Him to get something in return. The rewards are more important then our love for Him is to us. We can loose our faith by trying to make ourselves worthy of His praise through work, going to church, reading the Bible and praying. We will never be the person we want to be unless we have faith in Him making us who we are. We will never be worthy, it is Him in us that makes us worthy. (Hebrews 8v8 But God found fault with the people and said: "The time is coming, declares the Lord, when I will make a new covenant with the house of Israel and with the house of Judah) God found fault in us but He does not find fault in the Holy Spirit given to us to make us the image of Christ. We can loose our faith by having confidence in ourselves by making our accomplishments our own and not acknowledging His work working through us. They are His accomplishments, He is working through us, given to us for His use and His purpose in our lives so His power can be known. We can also loose our faith by letting circumstances and the cares of this world define who we are. When things are going good we can have faith but when things are not going "our way", true faith in God will reveal itself, through relationships and circumstances. We often say, "We are only human, it is alright to have fear and doubt, to be angry, to be jealous, that is who we are". We are all those things but Jesus Christ and the Holy Spirit are not, our faith in Him is hindered by not letting Him change us. We have faith in the first part of the word but we often forget the last part. (Mark 16v14 Later Jesus appeared to the Eleven as they were eating; he rebuked them for their lack of faith and their stubborn refusal to believe those who had seen him after he had risen) If we continue to doubt His power by our stubborn hearts in us by always thinking we are only human we are hindering His power in us, their is no repentance. We are reborn by the blood of Jesus Christ, we are children of God with His power saving us each and every day. He changes our fear to faith, our sorrow to joy, and our troubles to victory! God delivers us from all our troubles, we have faith in Him, we are immortal never to die and to always live guided by the Holy Spirit, because he lives in us!
I love everyone with the love God gives me for you! Read Mark 16 and Hebrews 3
