Good afternoon! Grace and peace to you from God and our Lord Jesus Christ.
Today we are testing ourselves with God's definition of "fall away".
Matthew 11v6 Blessed is the man who does not fall away on account of me.
Jesus was told that John the Baptist had doubt that Jesus was the one to come and save them. John had asked one of his disciples to ask Jesus if he was the one or should they expect someone else.
We are all put in a place where we may have doubt if Jesus is truly the answer but we have to have faith in who He is and wait on His glory to be revealed in our lives. We have to go back to where we began a relationship with Him and remember what our eyes saw and what we heard. We are to never forget how far He has brought us, spiritually and physically. This does not mean to go back into your life and see how He brought you out of things and there was no change in your personal relationship with Him. God blesses the righteous and the unrighteous because He wants to reveal His power in their lives but if we do not acknowledge His blessing by turning to Him in a better more personal relationship with Him, we will fall away not benefiting from His being our Savior. We often make Jesus Christ into something for our use and not to be something for His use. Jesus said, "The son of man came eating and drinking, and they say, 'Here is a glutton and a drunkard, a friend of tax collectors and "sinners" But wisdom is proved right by her actions. When we wait on God's wisdom will be proved right every time and humble ourselves to it. Jesus did not care if people did not listen to His warning, He did not retaliate when people mocked, or tried to trick Him, He kept telling and preaching the word and love of God for those that were willing to accept it. We that repent, realize God is greater than ourselves, and we desperately seek Him. We are like little children wanting Him to teach us all things! We will be saved from weariness and our heavy burdens, we will find rest for our souls. Those that fall away because they do not repent because of unbelief or pride even though they received a miracle or a blessing from God they did not repent or change their life because of it, they will not continually be blessed. All things have been committed to Jesus by His Father, and no one knows the Father except the Son and those to whom the Son chooses to reveal him. He chooses those that are willing to accept Him and the ones that repent because they are His little children that receive their ears and eyes; He is their God. The wise and learned of the world that do not repent, His presence is hid from them they do not have a change of heart, even though they may have received a blessing or a miracle, it will be more bearable for Sodom on the day of judgment than for them. Those of us who are weary and burdened and come to him with a willing and acceptable heart of repentance because they have faith in Him out of love for what He did for them on the cross, we will learn from Him and we know His burden is light. We will be blessed because we repent we do not fall a way from the truth of Jesus Christ, our ears and eyes have been opened by His love. Our burden is light because it is God who carries it! Read Matthew 11. I love everyone with the love God gives me for you!
