Good morning! Grace and peace to you from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ.
Today we are testing ourselves with God's definition of then.
Psalm 51v13 Then I will teach transgressors your ways, and sinners will turn back to you.
This Psalm was written by David after he had committed adultery with Bathsheba and Nathan his prophet had come to Him.
When we sin against God we will feel like our bones are crushing if we have a true relationship with Him. We have a better promise than David, we have the Holy Spirit dwelling in us to feed daily. The Holy Spirit is always hungry for God's relationship, with His desires not ours, so we can prevent sins like this occurring in our lives. Thank you Jesus for your gift of the Holy Spirit that we are able to receive because of your sacrifice you made for our sins on the cross! The reason God loved David so much is because when He was told by His prophet about God's disappointment in him, he was crushed that he disappointed God. Even though he knew what a wretched person he was and sin was always before him, David also knew God always was right with His judgment. He knew God desired, and desires truth in the most inner parts of ourselves, so when we do face the truth in our own wisdom being foolish then His wisdom is able to take its place. We say, "God forgive me I know I can not think for myself and live right, it is your wisdom that is hidden in the inmost places of my heart that I truly desire!" We begin to say to Him, "Restore to me the joy of your salvation and grant me a willing spirit, to sustain me." If we are not willing to receive all of what God wants to give us because we do not put Him above our choices in our thinking, above our pride in who we are making ourselves to be, above our wants and desires, then we will not be able to teach other transgressors' His ways, and they will not turn back to him. As long as we put entertainment, activities, fellowship with others before Him in our families, communities, churches and government then we will not be going in the right direction. David commits adultery against God, we also commit adultery against God in many forms. He comes before all things so all things can be right with us and then all things will start being right with those around us as long as they are willing as we were willing. It may seem right to us at the time when we please ourselves and other people in what we want in our families, churches, or our government, but His wisdom is always proven right when we have faith in putting Him first above all things. So if we are going along the path of putting other things we want and desire before our true relationship with Him our true relationship with others knowing Him is not going to prevail! ( Mark 10v27 Jesus looked at them and said, "With man this is impossible, but not with God; all things are possible with God") If we are not putting Him above all things then we will never be able to teach others the right way, which is putting His relationship first in all things we do. ( Mark 10v29 I tell you the truth. "Jesus replied "no one who has left home or brothers or sisters or mother or father or children or fields for me and the gospel will fail to receive a hundred times as much in this present age (homes, brothers, sisters, mothers children and fields, and with them persecution, and the age to come eternal life.)We first have to know we are broken and need to be fixed and evidence of Him fixing us will show by us being restored day by day. THEN He will use us to teach others, and THEN they will in turn back to Him or to Him and be saved, because it will be Him doing the teaching, the restoring and the saving! If you are teaching others and you are not willing for Him to change you, how are others going to be willing for Him to change them? I love everyone with the love God gives me for you! Read Psalm 51 and Mark 10 v 17-34.
