Good morning! Mercy, peace and love be yours in abundance.
Today we are testing ourselves with God's definition of name.
Colossians 3v17 And whatever you do, whether in word or deed, do it all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through him.
The name "Jesus," or "Yeshua" in Aramaic, means "Yahweh is Salvation" and though it was not an uncommon name in biblical times, but the name believers proclaimed then and now is the very message of the one who bore it. He who was and is the Messiah, the "anointed one" or "the Christ," had come to express by word and work that "Yahweh is Salvation." We as believers have been given this name through the Holy Spirit when we have faith in Him being our Lord and Savior we receive His love, power and authority so He can complete His work through us. (John 14v4 On that day you will realize that I am in my Father, and you are in me, and I am in you.) Jesus also tells us that if we have faith in Him, we will be doing what He does. When we are being made in His image and when we fully surrender to Him, He will start working through us to complete His purpose of making himself known through us! We will be able to ask anything in His name and it will be given to us! Ask in His name means we are speaking through his disposition, his attitude, his heart and His mind, we are right in our relationship with Him. Glory to God for our gift of His Son so we can be right with God, through Him we are saved, through Him we have the gift of the Holy Spirit! By us laying down our own lives for Him He can raise us up so He can live through us, because He lives we live by His name! He is the resurrection and the life which gives us our resurrection and our true life! (John 14v14 You may ask me for anything in my name, and I will do it.) Are we asking for things in His name or in our name, our mind, our needs and wants, and through our own idea of love for others. Read John 14 and Colossians 3. I love you with the love God gives me for you!
