Grace and peace to you in abundance from our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ. Today we are testing ourselves with God's definition of rest.
Isaiah 11v2-3 The Spirit of the LORD will rest on him- the Spirit of wisdom and of understanding, the Spirit of counsel and of power, the Spirit of knowledge and of fear of the LORD v3 and he will delight in the fear of the Lord.
Through Jesus Christ we have the Spirit of the Lord resting on us also. Through faith in Him making us who we are He will rest on us and give us His Spirit of wisdom, His Spirit of knowledge and through His Spirit we will have a huge desire to only want to please Him because the fear of losing what we have delights us because we know fearing the loss of Him gives us all we need of Him. We do not rely on ourselves, we do not want wisdom or knowledge from any other source, we only want what the Spirit of the Lord wants. We are not born from the world any longer we are born of God through His Son Jesus Christ, we have been adopted into a new kingdom with Christ as our King and Savior. Some of us think on our path of life that we can think for ourselves until we need Him, and then when we need Him we call and He will come and give us wisdom. This is not denying ourselves completely, this is having faith in who we are until we can not do or handle something ourselves, then we call on Him. There is no change, no new person guiding our lives, he does not share His wisdom with our wisdom, we have to deny ourselves and fully put our Faith in Him. He only uses us when we deny ourselves being used. He works through us when we surrender all to Him. We do not work for the Lord, He works through us. We are a new creature born of the Spirit of God resting on us, staying and dewelling in us then we will receive wisdom, knowldge, the great couunsler that is able to counsel us so He can counsel others through us. Righteousness will be our belt becasue it is His righteousness not our own. Our faithfullness to our Father, will be His faithfulness because we can not be faithful. We know this is true because we have denied ourselves. (Matthew 13v11 He replied, "The knowledge of the secrets of the kingdom of heaven has been given to you, but not to them.) If you do not give up all you have gained through your own identiy making yourself who you are, you can not have what He wants to give you. Whoever has given up all to Him by Faith in Him being thier LOrd of their lives, will be given more, and he will have an abundance, but whoever does not give up what he has, even what he has will be taken from him. Is the Holy Spirit resting on you because He is the Lord of your life and you have given Him all of yourself so He can give you all of himself? Give yourself to Him now, all of you, let His Spirit rest on you because your spirit is resting in Him. Read Isaiah 11 and Matthew 13, I love everyone with the love God gives me for you!
