Good morning! Grace and peace to you from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ, who gave himself for our sins to rescue us from the present evil age, according to the will of our God and Father, to whom be glory for ever and ever. Amen
Today we are testing ourselves with God's definition of believe.
John 11v25&26 Jesus said to her, "I am the resurrection and the life. He who believes in me will live, even though he dies; v26 and whoever lives and believes in me will never die. Do you believe this?
Mary knew Jesus before this conversation, she had seen all the miracles God had performed through Him by His Holy Spirit. She still did not truly believe even though she answered Yes, Lord," I believe that you are the Christ, the Son of God, who was to come into the world. She let the rules and beliefs of the world come in her heart before our Father through Christ brought her brother back from the dead causing doubt and unbelief. (John 11v39 "Take away the stone," He said. But, Lord," said Martha, the sister of the dead man, "by this time there is a bad odor, for he has been there four days." )We too say over and over again we believe then we let Satan come in by doubt and we say, "But Lord". Satan gives us a lot of "buts" by using the worlds wisdom that denies our Father's power that He has given us. The same power that our Lord and Savior has we also have. We often deny His power at work in us with our "buts." "But Lord, what about all the sickness that runs in my family"? "But Lord, what about my bills that are piling up, I can not pay?" "But Lord, what about my relationship, this person is to hard for me to get along with?" "But Lord, what about all my responsibilities I am suppose to live up to in the world, how can I if I am old and can not work?" "But Lord, what about the economy, how am I going to get a job? When we are led by the Holy Spirit, He gives us a whole new person to do our thinking for us, he renews our mind when we fully surrender we are crucifying our sinful nature. ( Romans 6v4 We were therefore buried with him through baptism into death in order that, just as Christ was raised from the dead through the glory of the Father, we too may live a new life.)We will have a mind that has abandon all human wisdom. This includes basic principles of the world, myths and other philosophes. They may sound good and be entertaining to the mind and make sense but they will not bring change within you, they will not be proven right and true. ( 1 Timothy 1v4 nor to devote themselves to myths and endless genealogies. These promote controversies rather than God's work-which is by faith.) We often keep our minds tied up with what we have been taught through tradition in our families, churches and community. We have our minds held captive by the false power of the world and its basic principles being deceived by Satan controlling us and leading us into false believing that leads us into false living. With the Holy Spirit leading us we are fully persuaded in His power and abandon all other human wisdom, we are fully persuaded and are not willing to compromise or be moved from the faith we have received in Christ Jesus. We commit our spirit to His dominating Spirit that takes over our weak spirit and He is strong so we become strong in believing in His power over our weakness. ( Ephesians 6v10 Finally, be strong in the Lord an in his mighty power.) When we commit our spirits to the Lord and He gives us His Holy Spirit we ourselves die and we live because He lives through us! Do we believe in Him this way today? Do we truly believe in His power of love that gives us all we need because when He is asking through us and for us in our behalf all things are possible? Do we believe He is truly sent to save us from all the evil in the world? Do we believe in His many promises and blessings in this life? Do we really believe in His power being greater than us and greater than all the power we think the world and Satan has over us? Do we believe in Him being who He truly is that makes us who we truly are? Read John 11 and Romans 6.
