Good morning! Grace and peace to you from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ. Today we are testing ourselves with God's definition of instruction?
Matthew 11v1 After Jesus had finished instructing his twelve disciples he went on from there to teach and preach in the towns of Galilee.
In God's word through Matthew He tells us many instructions we must listen to by faith in Him making us who we are. After we have confessed in faith Jesus Christ is Lord of our lives and we have surrendered our lives to Him we first acknowledge we have been given His authority. We have different desires, a boldness that we receive from the Holy Spirit that gives us His confidence and His Spirit of fire! (Matthew 3v11 "I baptize you with water for repentance. But after me will come one who is more powerful than I, whose sandals I am not fit to carry. He will baptize you with the Holy Spirit and with fire") Each day we are dying to ourselves so He can work through us and give us all of himself, we press on everyday to be made into his glorious image due to what He did for us on the cross, we are His to use because He has given us our true self, we want so very badly to be worthy of His calling us to be his disciples. This is our new way of thinking because He is renewing our minds. (Ephesians 4v1 As a prisoner for the Lord, then, I urge you to live a life worthy of the calling you have received.) The reason we are listening to Jesus by faith in Him making us who we are is because He is preparing us so He can work through us, so we all can be built up until we all reach unity in the faith and in the knowledge of the Son of God and become mature, attaining the whole measure of the fullness of Christ. When we have attainted the fullness of Christ he then can work through us so we can be sent out into the darkness for His light to make a difference, we can be used for His purpose and live a life completing His will for our lives, living out His plan and His future for us. Many of us do not want Him to prepare us in the fullness of Him. We do not want to be used for His purpose. We do not want to go out in the darkness, face persecution, and be the capstone everyone trips over. We begin to think His teaching is to hard and we fall away, or we make up our own Jesus to follow so it will be comfortable for us. When we have his authority we will be telling people the Kingdom of Heaven is within them. Because Jesus Christ died for us in our place, and rose again we too can rise and live our true lives with the same authority Jesus Christ has. We are not worthy to accomplish all what God wants from us but He can through us by Him giving us His authority and we receiving it. If we are not using his authority to drive out demons he is not using us, we are not raised from death to life ourselves. If we do not have faith in Him making us who we are we will not have His authority. For us to be disciples He has to make us disciples, and He uses other disciples to complete his purpose. If we have not received his authority we will not be able to go into the dark among the wolves, we will not be able to see the dark or the wolves, so we can turn the wolves into lambs. He will not be able to turn the sick into healthy through us. He will not be able to change the dead to life, cleanse those who are unclean, and drive out evil spirits. We want have his eyes, his ears, his words, his hands there will be no true change in us so others around us will not be changing. Today are you being changed by having faith in Him by Him giving us His authority to complete his instructions he has given us to do His work through? Do we have His confidence not our own. If we use our own authority we will not be changing and no one around us will. He always brings us to a new level of authority and confidence when we do His will. He who has been given will be given more and He who does not have what He has will be taken away from him. Read Matthew 10 and Luke 20. I love you with all the love God gives me for you through Jesus Christ my Lord and Savior!
