Good morning! Grace and peace to you in abundance from our Father and our Lord Jesus Christ. Today we are testing ourselves with God's definition of worshipers.
John 4v24 Yet a time is coming and has now come when the true worshipers will worship the Father in spirit and truth, for they are the kind of worshipers the Father seeks.
These words say a lot about who we are and who God is. First Jesus Christ himself tells us God is spirit and his worshipers must worship in spirit and in truth. What Spirit and what truth? If you have been touched by the grace of God, through faith in Jesus Christ being our Lord and Savior, then you have been touched by God's love through the Holy Spirit and His grace will have a huge effect on you, his love will dramatically change you day by day. You can stop receiving God's grace at anytime due to unbelief, pride in you making yourself who you are by you choosing your own gifts, and by you not recognizing your own sin. This women at the well is one of the great stories of how Jesus knew the truth, said it and the women embraced his love for her despite him knowing all the sins she had committed. We too look at others in this way. We recognize God's power in Him healing the whole person instead of focusing on their weakness by condemning their sin, we all have sinned and we all fall short of the glory of God. Through Jesus Christ and His love we are free from sin by His love for us, we are changed knowing we have a new life because he has revealed in our hearts all we have ever done but we are forgiven. When we know His love we will not be able to not worship in a different way! We can not sit quietly singing and thinking of anything else but the love we have for Him because we will be worshipping in Spirit not in the flesh any longer. It is His ( Psalm 100v1-3 Shout for joy to the LORD, worship the LORD with gladness: come before him with joyful songs. Know that the LORD is God. It is he who made us, and we are his, we are his people, the sheep of his pasture) When we have been touched by God's forgiving power we then will worship Him in Spirit. His Spirit reveals a love we could not experience on our own. It causes us to worships in a way we would not worship him in our natural selves. Our lives are different how can we not worship Him differently? We are full of praise, full of love for Him that surpasses all human natural wisdom. Are we worshiping as if we have been touched by a love that surpasses all that we can understand? Are we worshiping in truth by doing our Father's will and not our own. Are we pleasing people or pleasing Him so people can truly be changed by the truth. He came to save us and heal our whole body, with is Spirit renewing our soul. The truth we speak is Christ in us, changing us from our sinful nature unto His righteous nature. What a glorious God we have that He seeks those who truly worship in truth and Spirit! Through Faith in the gift of the Holy Spirit, we receive Him who is truth! We will be worshiping Him differently, not to please ourselves or others but to worship freely by the Holy Sprit of truth He has given us so we can freely worship Him out of the love we have received from Him. We love because He first loved us. ( 1 John 4v17 In this way, love is made complete among us so that we will have confidence on the day of judgment, because in this world we are like him.) If we have received His love like the women at the well many more will become believers through His love given to us through the Holy Spirit of truth! Have we become true worshipers because we are worshiping in Spirit and truth? Have we changed the lie of sin to worship in truth by faith in the one God sent to change us? Read 1 John 4 and John 4. I love everyone with the love God gives me for you through Jesus Christ our Lord and Savior!
