Good afternoon! Wisdom, knowledge and joy to you in abundance from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ. Today we are testing ourselves with God's definition of good in his sight.
Ecclesiastes 2v26 To the man who pleases him. God gives wisdom, knowledge and happiness, but to the sinner he gives the task of gathering and storing up wealth to hand it over to the one who pleases God. This too is meaningless a chasing after the wind.
When we are good in God's sight that means we please Him, we are in Christ Jesus, growing in his image everyday. We know this because we have been given His wisdom and we think differently and more clearly every day. We are living a life doing His will for our lives not our own. Our mind is becoming the mind of Christ more and more each day. We do not mind telling people it is not our wisdom it is God's wisdom given to us through his word and His Holy Spirit. We have gained more knowledge and we divide the word of truth correctly. He has given us all of himself so He can work through us for His glory. We do not keep our blessings, they are gifts; we share them. Our purpose in life is not to save money for our own pleasures, so we can have more than we need. We do have great joy and thankfulness in what God has given us, and know all we have is given to us by Him. He gives us His joy in having all we need and enough to share with others. We do not have a desire to have more than we need. That is our abundant life because we have abundance to share what we have with those that have too little. We share so we do not have too much. This too is wisdom given to us by God.This is being good in the sight of God because what we have is given to us by Him for us to share, we receive from Him His joy, wisdom and knowledge not our own. A joy that goes beyond natural joy. A wisdom and knowledge that goes way beyond natural wisdom or knowledge. This is why God gives us joy in doing our work, and gives us wisdom and knowledge to know Him. We please Him by having faith in His Son Jesus Christ our Lord and Savior. By having faith in Jesus Christ being our Lord and Savior we are given the gift of the Holy Spirit to guide us by His gifts of joy, wisdom and knowledge. The natural man does not please God or can, he has no desire to please Him, he is living his own life following his own dreams and plans. Many today think they are going the right way, toward God but are being deceived. Their joy, wisdom and knowledge does not come from God. God gives him the travail or hard work of gathering and storing up wealth to hand it over to the one who pleases God. Today who are we pleasing, ourselves, others or God? Are we continually receiving His endless, unexplained joy, wisdom and knowledge? Are we continually receiving a joy we have never received before, a wisdom that we have never thought before and a knowledge of knowing God we never knew before. If not, turn to Jesus Christ in faith with a sincere heart of repentance and ask Him for forgiveness, He will put you on the right path and you will know the difference within you, you will receive a joy you have never received before a wisdom you have never thought before and a knowledge of God you never knew before. Say hello to your new friend within you, the Holy Spirit!
