What are our motives?

Good afternoon, grace and peace from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ. Today we are testing ourselves with our motives. James 4v3 When you ask, you do not receive, because you ask with wrong motives, that you may spend what you get on your pleasures.
We can envy others and their internal spiritual possessions as well as material possessions. We can want their peace in their soul as well as their pocket book. We can want their faith as well as their Ferrari. We can want their hope as well as their house. We look at others as if they were able to achieve something we cannot so when we ask God we ask in the wrong motive. We ask because we want the possessions they have for us  for our purpose, not to prove what we have came from Him  for His purpose. So today, let us ask ourselves what is our motives? The answer might reveal why He does not give what we ask for because we want them only for ourselves and to make our life easier instead of Him making our lives easier because of what He has given us. We who are in Jesus Christ  have submitted our self and all of our needs to our Father. When we speak we are speaking through the Holy Spirit and we are asking for His purpose of making Himself known in our lives to prove who He is by the gifts He gives of Himself. He is our peace and we proclaim Him being all we need to complete us with peace, faith and hope along with our material needs. We do not desire or envy anything that is in the world, we know friendship with the world in what it desires is hatred toward God. This does not mean God will not bless us with many things, but they will be given so we can bless others for what He has given us not what we have worked for for ourselves. So we do not want things to prove who we are in the world we want them so He can prove who He is in the world through us!! Today test yourself and ask  what are your motives when you ask God for spiritual gifts or material gifts. Is it for yourself and for your own peace of mind or is it to proclaim His peace to show He answers those that pray for  His purpose in who He is within you providing you with all you need in all ways. Read James 4 I love everyone with the grace He gives me for you!
