Good morning to all, grace and peace from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ.
Today is the day God will test us, if we are listening to him, or listening to another voice. Are we obstinate children, or are we children that follow and wait on him?
Isaiah 30:15 This is what the Sovereign Lord, the Holy One of Israel says, in repentance and rest is your salvation, in quietness and trust is your strength, but you would not have none of it.
This passage tells us how we will react to life and it's daily challenges, and all of us have different challenges we face each day. If we are those turning down what Christ gives us freely from the cross our lives will reflect an obstinate child against God. Those will be the ones that make their own plans, that are not his, forming an alliance with everyone else, but not by His Spirit and guidance. They will be the ones heaping sin upon sin without consulting God. They are the ones that look for help from other sources. These children will have alliances and acceptance from other sources, and those other sources will bring these children nothing but disgrace. These are those that are rebellious against God, and are not willing to listen to the Lord's instruction. These are people that want to see what they want to see, and not His truth what God wants them to see.
How will we know if we are not an obstinate child? God reveals to us through his words and Spirit those children that do repent will reveal their rest is in him alone. They will be children with a inner soul reflecting his quietness, no confusion, no fear, and anxious worried hearts. Those children will be reflecting a child that is full of His faith, His peace, and His strength will be revealed through their quiet souls, and their weak bodies. They will be reflecting a child with no fear from heavy burdens holding them down. They will be children reflecting his strength carrying their burdens. The plans of those children will be secure because they are his, and those children constantly here his voice and his instructions saying "This is the way, walk in it".
Today is our test, like everyday is our test, which child are we reflecting? Are we reflecting a child of God through Jesus Christ, and following God's instructions through faith in His Spirit? Are we a child revealing a reflection of his truth, his instructions, his peace, quietness of soul, and his strength giving us his confidence that is never weary? Are we reflecting a child that has given themselves to Christ at the cross? Or are we reflecting the obstinate child? The child of pride in themselves, confusion, doubt, fear, lack of faith, unbelief in God, constant weariness, and plans going their own way by their own truth and own understanding?
Which child are we reflecting?
Read all of Isaiah 30 today and tell God which child you are, and which child you want to be. Let him take you on the right path to the child he wants you to be. Thank Him if you are His listening child today, and if you are not, thank Him, he will bring you where you need to be!!
