How do we as true Christians encourage a homosexual?

Today September 10, 2015 in America many life styles are changing including our family roles as husbands, wives, and children.  This life style "change" has already been accepted in many parts of the world, and during this time it is growing, and being accepted more, and more in America. Many homosexuals claim they are doing God's will by being a homosexual, and also claim being a follower of Christ. How do we encourage them when they twist his word to suit their own needs.

Do we truly know what a Christian is today? If we do, or when we do, how should we be encouraging the life styles others have chosen that he is trying to save? First we are going to discuss what a true Christian is by our only example of a true one; our Lord Jesus Christ.   We should be building the proof within ourselves that his work in us is present from him being our only foundation. We can only use his life as our own example, and it  is not one we can copy, it is one that lives in us by Him through His Spirit. We can however look at his life as a test to see if we are following Him within from how he lived through his character, emotions, and deeds.  His word proclaims his life, and His Spirit within us will never contradict his word.  By testing ourselves by His words, Spirit, and life they will reveal if we are not truly rightly related to him, and we always can repent to God. His Spirit will reveal this truth in us by what he gives us of himself.   His  mercy, grace, peace and love will always follow our repented hearts, that keeps us from continuing to sin.   Denying one self is the life of repentance as Jesus first tells us, and carrying our cross means we can only carry it by what he gives us of himself. If we are not denying ourselves, and carrying our cross daily by what he gives us we cannot be his disciples. We are going to begin by reading about his life when he began his ministry, and what His message to all mankind was.

Matthew 4:16-17 the people living in darkness have seen a great light; on those living in the land of the shadow of death a light has dawned.  From that time on Jesus began to preach, "Repent, for the kingdom of heaven is near. (the KJV says; for the kingdom of heaven is at hand.)

This tells us the light of him will lead all people that accept the light to repentance for God. What is repentance?  I lived most of my life not hearing what the word repentance was. I never saw his light until late in life.  I did not hear the message of faith in Christ nor the message that reveals the faith his light brings. Only those who have faith in Jesus Christ can be saved from darkness and death.  Each person has their own darkness they are living in. We do not choose our darkness, and it comes to each of us through our life. We are all born in darkness, as the earth was formed out of  darkness, and given light, so are we.

Romans 10:17 Consequently, faith comes from hearing the message, and the message is heard through the word of Christ.

How I did not see his light, hear from Him, and receive his faith; I do not know.  I do not know if my ears were blocked by my evil desires. It also may have been from my own thinking that my unworthiness was to wretched for him to save me.  It also could have been from me hearing other voices telling me something different, no one giving me answers that made sense, or preachers were not preaching the true message of the cross, and what it means. Regardless of why, in all cases that may of occurred on different occasions, I did not hear it, and in all cases you will not hear it either.  Today we are preaching it through the word of Christ for all to hear, and who ever has hears let them hear what he  gives you. Because this is what Christ preached, and this is the first part of our relationship with His Spirit within because we are all lost, and fall short of the glory of God.  Through him we are brought into his glory, and as long as we remain in him we will not fall short, because of who he is not because of who we are.  His presence in us will give us a heart  to repent from our sinful natural selves.  If you do not have a heart of repentance then he is not drawing you from his true presence. Repentance in the Hebrew translation is the word metanoeo, it sounds like met-an-o-eh'-o, and it means to change one's mind for the better, heartily to amend with hatred of one's past sins for God. God can only give you a heart to repent by the power of his Son through His Spirit.

This is how the Spirit reveals to our mind and heart our past nature of sin, we will want to  change ourselves by the light of his holiness he reveals to us. We can always refuse the light, stay the same, and continually live in the dark. Some may prefer the dark and like living by their own evil desires.  Some are being deceived thinking they are living in the light, and still are in the darkness.  Satan masquerades himself as a angel of light.

2 Corinthians 11:13 For such men are false apostles, deceitful workmen, masquerading as apostles of Christ.  And no wonder, for Satan himself masquerades as an angel of light.  It is not surprising, then, if his servants masquerade as servants of righteousness.  Their end will be what their actions deserve.

When his light was truly revealed to me I could not resist it because I was wanting a change from the darkness I could not get away from.  I was searching for a change, but I did not know Him or know he was the answer until his light was revealed through hearing him through his message of repentance, and the fruit of His Spirit that was revealed in me from me repenting.

Many people repent today of their past sins, and their past mistakes, and learn to change on their own.  This kind of repentance is for yourself, or for someone else. It is called natural repentance, and through our own mind, and for ourselves.  Many sociologist today use natural repentance as a way of dealing with mistakes as in forgiving others, and yourself, but no forgiveness from God is applied.   The repentance God is talking about is from God, and to God, because He truly is the only one we are sinning against.  It is his law we cannot keep, but we can through His Spirit be called to repentance by him, and for him of our sins at the cross.   He is the only one that can give us a need for him, through his new nature, and life he is revealing to us.  We then are repenting (wanting to change) by faith in receiving what he has promised.  Many people today repent, but they are not repenting by God telling them to repent by His Spirit, and they are not repenting to Him by His calling them to repentance. Many homosexuals today do not understand this calling to repentance by God, they think the battle to stop is their own, and many have been trying to repent on their own, and it is only through God can a person change, because the battle is his not theirs, and he fights it for you through His powerful Spirit that leads you to repentance.

Through His repentance we will despise our sinful nature that his presence reveals, and have a great desire to repent, or to change, by what His Spirit reveals.  Only through Him can we see the nature of our true selves.  Only through the "New Man, can we see the "old man", or the "old woman" we want to get rid of which is our sinful natures the Spirit, our New Man within us (Jesus Christ) can only reveal.
When we do receive Him we will be manifesting or proving His fruit or behaviors working in us instantly from our repentance wanting our sinful nature crucified as he was crucified.  This fruit is his behaviors, not ours, and his behavior is not a behavior we can copy or obtain by our own works of right thinking on our own.
They only appear through denying what is not him (ourselves) in us daily are we able to receive His fruit through his Spirit daily, and be reborn a true child of God daily.  We can never tell when the Spirit will come upon us, or what kind of  holy person he will make us into being, but we will always here his voice, and be guided by His behaviors.  As long as we remain in him, he will remain in us.

John 3:8 The wind blows where ever it pleases.  You hear its sound, but you cannot tell where it comes from or where it is going.  So it is with everyone born of the Spirit.

The fruit of the Spirit is the Holiness of God's behaviors given to us that we have never experienced before in our natural human nature, and we will never experience them in our natural human nature no matter how hard we work to get them, they only come through faith in Him giving you all you need.  If we are not led by the Holy Spirit his behaviors will not exist within us. This is a sign for us to know him, and what he gives us. Each daily circumstance and relationship will reveal if we are his or not. Against these behaviors there is no law. Meaning one cannot work for them, they only come through the gifted Spirit of Christ.  In other words no other works of man can stand against them.

Galatians 5:22 But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control. Against such things there is no law. Those who belong to Christ Jesus have crucified the sinful nature with its passions and desires, Since we live by the Spirit, let us keep in step with the Spirit. Let us not become conceited, provoking and envying each other.

Paul is talking about Christians should not be living envying each other, not the lost envying each other, or the lost envying the Christian. He is talking about Christians should not be envying each other, nor anyone else. We should be different because the Spirit of Christ does not envy anyone, he is full of knowing who he is, and is confident in who he is, he is God in perfect human nature.  We have been given this Spirit so our mind, body and soul should be manifesting this attitude among ourselves.  We should be proving our unity not our differences with each Christian.  How can one prove unity with a homosexual who has not repented, or who thinks they are living a life for God?  The test we go by, or the test Christ is judging us by is the fruit of the Spirit, and then when we are full of the fruits of His Spirit each day.  We will be recognizing His fruit working in us and the in others for the benefit of knowing the false believers that may think they truly are.

Matthew 7:16 By their fruit you will recognize them.  Do people pick grapes from thorn bushes, or gifts from thistles? Likewise every good tree bears good fruit, but a bad tree bears bad fruit.

These are false witnesses we should be recognizing, and bringing out into the open for God, and for themselves showing them the love he has for them through us. That is How he works in us, and through us, and Christ reveals this to us through his word.  God desires his good fruit to be multiplied, and if we continue to ignore people he reveals that truly need him, and his love to save them then he will hold us accountable.

Christ also gives us a list that makes us unclean we can test ourselves by through His Spirit confirming his word within us, we will know sin, and what makes us unclean, it is by the Spirit of truth that his words are confirmed.  These are the things that make us unclean, and keeps us in darkness that we all should be denying within ourselves through His power.

Matthew 15:16 Are you still so dull? Jesus asked them.  Don't you see that whatever enters the mouth goes into the stomach and then out of the body?  But the things that come out of the mouth come from the heart, and these make a man unclean.  For out of the heart come evil thoughts, murder, adultery, sexual morality, theft, false testimony, slander.  These are what make a man unclean; but eating with unwashed hands does not make him 'unclean.'

Jesus tells us here our hearts (sinful natures) need to be crucified through faith in Him giving us our clean hearts, and mind by His gift of the Spirit that destroys our own evil thoughts we all have.  Temptations will always come but we have the power through His grace to say no to all ungodliness. Most of these sins all of us have committed, continually committed, and some more than others.  Evil thoughts will make us unclean, and any sexual morality, having sex with someone you are not married to, prostitution, and homosexuality is sexual morality.  Homosexuality it is not a natural relationship Jesus himself describes when he speaks of marriage.  This should be a change within all of our hearts not wanting to live by these unclean behaviors, and life styles any longer.

Does that mean we hate someone, or are bitter toward them that does these unclean lifestyles or behaviors, or do we accept the unclean sinful life styles they are living. NO to both, it means we keep encouraging them through His Spirit of truths, and never give up in telling them, and showing them the difference his grace has made in our own life.  We love them enough to tell them His truth, and show them by the grace he has given us. They will either accept His truth, and allow him to change them as he did us, or they will walk away.  If they do walk away we will continue to love them through his Spirit of truth which he would also do, and pray for them to surrender all to God, so sin will not continue mastering them, as it use to in us, in their lives any longer.

What does Jesus say about marriage?

Matthew 19:3 Some Pharisees came to him to test him.  They asked, "Is it lawful for a man to divorce his wife for any and every reason? "Haven't your read," he replied,  "That at the beginning the Creator made them male and female; and said, 'For this reason a man will leave his father and the two will become one flesh? So they are no longer two, but one.  Therefore what God has joined together, let man not separate." Why then", they asked, "Did Moses command that a man give his wife a certificate of divorce and send her away?" Jesus replied, Moses permitted you to divorce your wives because of your hearts were hard. But it was not this way from the beginning.  I tell you that anyone who divorces his wife, except for marital unfaithfulness, (KJV says fornication, which is adultery) and marries another commits adultery. The disciples said to him, "If this is the situation between a husband and wife, it is better not to marry." Jesus replied, "Not everyone can accept this word, but only those to whom it has been given.  For some are eunuchs because they were born that way; others were made that way by men; and others have renounced marriage because of the kingdom of heaven.  The one who can accept this should accept it.

These verses many twist around to suit their own life styles, but let us investigate these many words, and see the conversation Jesus is having and what it means. Remember all of God's word should interact with each word, and no constrictions should be present through the whole meaning as he can only give you.  If there is confusion wait he will reveal his true meaning through all the scriptures.

First let us receive the setting  that Jesus was in. "The Pharisees came to test him."  What were they testing him about? Was it homosexuality, was it about multiple wives, or was it about divorce? We see clearly they were testing him about divorce, and he answers that question clearly, but he also reveals a lot of other answers through his statements about men and women, and their roles God created them to be with one another. We have to look deeper into the words to see these answers.  Jesus often reveals more than one statement through his words, they go deeper and deeper into his image into how God wants us to live.

Many homosexuals believe when we do go deep into God's word we are forming our own belief in what the words mean but let us look clearly with our minds open, and see if we are twisting them, or  is it because they have more than one meaning.

In the beginning there were male and female, and they become one. There is no mistaken those words that is what God intended in the beginning.  There is no man and man woman and woman, that is how it began and that is what God clearly says and Jesus uses as his own example of marriage. You cannot twist that, it plainly is clear for all to see.

Then he clearly says why God allowed Moses to give his people a divorce; "their hearts were harden" by the world, themselves, or for many reasons as we look back in the time of Moses, but again that is not what God intended from the beginning as Jesus plainly says. Which clearly means man and woman was meant to be together from the beginning. "It was not this way from the beginning."

The multiple wives were also added by men, as God did not intend and he clearly states this in Deuteronomy 17:17 He (Kings) must not take many wives, or his heart will be led astray. He  must not accumulate large amounts of silver and gold.

This again proves man's heart condition of coveting wives will always lead him astray, and make his heart hard. This was not God's idea from the beginning it became mans idea. This is proven through out history by everyone who has had more than one wife will always go astray from God through all the evil desires, and temptations of trouble this life style will cause. This is why Jesus plainly quotes one man and one woman, and one husband and one wife.  Our Lord would have not quoted this one man (husband, and one woman (wife) word of God from the beginning, and claiming that is what he intended in the beginning, if he did not want us to follow this for our married lives.

The disciples answered with puzzlement, "If this is the situation between a husband and a wife, it is better not to marry."

This sounds like the disciples did  believe any one can be faithful with one woman, so if this is the way it is suppose to be than it is best not to get married.  Jesus replies, "Not everyone can accept this word, but only those to whom it has been given."  Also these word reveal again a husband and a wife, not man and man and not woman and woman, nor many wives.

What "word" is he talking about that we may not accept because we are not given? The word about divorce, the word about a man and a woman becoming one, about it being that way since the beginning, or about the whole word of God's meaning about marriage?  One man and one woman becoming one and never getting a divorce was his plan since the beginning of the creation of the two.  Since the whole word covers all these meanings I believe Jesus meant the whole meaning not all can accept, because not all have been given. Then he list the reasons why some cannot accept it, and not one of them is because of homosexuality.

"For some are eunuchs because they were born that way;"

What is a eunuch? And how would some be born that way?

The Greek translation word for eunuch is eunouchos, is sounds like yoo-noo-khos.  It means a man that is emasculated. For those who do not know the correct meaning of emasculated,  it means castrate, gelded and also weaken.  Naturally it would be someone who has been incapacitated or disabled from their mothers womb.  This does not mean they were born homosexuals, it means they would be born unable to  have a desire for sex because they are not able.

The next reason Jesus says some are eunuchs is because they were made eunuchs by men. This would be for an office of the kings that had many wives, this way the Kings wives would not be contaminated by another man's seed.  The man would not be able to have sex by corrupting his offspring, and be able to take the position of that office.  This would be something I believe the man would desire to do for the position, and would not have a strong desire for sex, because he would want the position.

The next reason is a man would love God so much he would not desire to be married to a woman or have a desire for sex.  This would be someone like Paul who only wanted to be solely devoted to God without any added distractions. This does not mean a man and woman cannot be solely devoted to God in marriage.  It means one will have less temptations, and troubles getting your devotion to God above your wife or your husband.

A eunuch is a man who has no sexual desire, this does not mean he is a homosexual, it means he has no sexual desire for anyone.  There is a big difference in being a eunuch and a homosexual.  A eunuch has no sexual desire at all, and Jesus says some are born that way, some are made that way, and some want to be that way for God.

These are Jesus's words that proclaim a marriage, and the roles each man and each woman should play in it, and only through giving our lives to him can we complete the role, and accept the word.  We are true mature Spiritual Christians by denying ourselves daily.   We each are led through His Spirit to complete these roles as they have been given to us now on this earth where we are suppose to be drawing people to him, and not away from Him or to ourselves.  It all depends on each person in what they are willing to give up for Him in faith if he is fully living in them or not.

His truth, peace and love always.
