Have you received God's truth about genealogies?

Today September 17, 2015 as I was pondering God's word through prayer, he revealed a truth that many have not received today, and it is hindering their faith.  Satan loves for us to focus on the world, and ourselves in our natural human spiritual way of thinking, and believing .  Satan will continue to give you a wrong way of thinking, and beleiving as long as you believe it. The wrong teaching that we are going to discuss today is how people are heeding to genealogies.

The only way we can keep a wrong belief, or wrong thinking of natural man, and the world's wisdom from entering our mind is to focus on our Father, and His word through having faith in the Holy Spirit of  Christ revealing the truth to us.  Jesus Christ is the Word of God, and he came to warn us about wrong believing, and wrong thinking each of us have without him.  We have His wisdom through His Spirit to renew our mind to His thinking, and beleiving which is the best for us.

John 1:1-2 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.

The only way to fight the spiritual powers of the darkness is through a divine spiritual power that is greater, and that is only through the Spirit of our Lord we receive from the cross.  We are not powerful enough to fight off any wrong thinking, speaking, or beleiving the wrong way about ourselves, the world, and Satan.  Only through the divine power of the Spirit of God can we fight off the dark spirits getting us to believe, and think another way.

2 Corinthians 10:4 The weapons we fight with are not the weapons of the world.  On the contrary, they have divine power to demolish strongholds.  We demolish arguments, and every pretension that sets itself up against the knowledge of God, and we take captive every thought to make it obedient to Christ.

If we do not listen to God, keep ignoring his Spirit, his word and not dividing it correctly he is giving us, he will send someone he reveals His truth through for our benefit because he is loving us through that person. These people are his anointed through His Spirit, and the first fruits of Christ. Those who are full in faith in Christ, and full in the Spirit of Christ will do what Christ did on earth because he will be doing it through them for God's purpose to save a soul for Him, and not to condemn them. Our Heavenly Father will be sending us the same way he sent him, through His Spirit.

John 20:21 Again Jesus said, "Peace be with you! As the Father has sent me, I am sending you. And with that he breathed on them and said, "Receive the Holy Spirit.

You will recognize these anointed children of God by their fruit. We must be very careful to pay attention how we listen, and He will disclose what is hidden in us and in others for all to benefit from.  Paul and Timothy were two people God anointed in the beginning for building His church. They were filled with the Holy Spirit and full of faith to warn the churches about some of the wrong teaching, and beliefs they were following that hindered their faith. Today God anoints others the same way and he uses them for his same purpose, to reveal his truth in by his word dwelling in them and through the deeds he gives them.

1 Timothy 1:1 Paul, an apostle of Jesus Christ by the commandment of God our Savior, and Lord Jesus Christ, which our hope; Unto Timothy, my own son in the faith; grace, mercy, and peace,. from God our Farther and Jesus Christ our Lord.

1 Timothy 1:3 As I (Paul) besought thee to abide still at Ephesus, when I went into Macedonia, that thou mightiest charge some that they teach no other doctrine. (KJV)

As I urged you when I went into Macedonia, stay there in Ephesus so that you may command certain men not to teach false doctrines any longer. (NIV)

What is the false doctrine or the wrong kind of teaching is the Spirit of God, our Savior and Lord revealing to Paul and Timothy to warn the churches about in this scripture?

1 Timothy 1:4-5 reveals our answer: Neither give heed to fables and endless genealogies, which minister questions, rather than godly edifying which is in faith: so do.  Now the end of the commandment is charity out of a pure heart, and of a good conscience, and of faith unfeigned: From which some having swerved have turned aside unto vain jangling: Desiring to be teachers of the law; understanding neither what they say, nor whereof they affirm.

The word genealogy in Greek translation is genealogia and is sounds like, ghen-eh-al-og-ee'-ah. It means a record of descent or lineage.

The word descent means ancestry, birth or lineage. Genealogy would be any record from birth, ancestry or line of people you came from.  What are some of the records we may have from our ancestry that we live by or heed to today?

Paul is warning us as we should be warning others to stay away from these endless genealogies because it hinders our faith in Christ. God does not give us a specific record not to follow, he plainly says, "Do not give heed to fables and endless genealogies."  This would mean do not give heed to any genealogy or record of lineage.   Health, behaviors, sins, and physical looks, meaning genes that are passed on from one linage from another is all records of lineage. A tall family will produce tall children, and a family with acne may produce an offspring with acne.  In Biblical times I am sure the record of diseases, and sins were more severe than today.

Do not give heed to any of these endless records God is clearly saying, as something you would base your living by. The word "heed" in the Greek translation is the word prosecho, it sounds like pros-ekh'o. It means to turn your mind to, or to give attention to.

God also tells us, through these words, if we are in Christ our goal or end purpose for revealing his truth is out of love, charity, that comes from a pure heart, and of a good conscience, and of faith unfeigned.  This would mean someone telling someone else not to heed to genealogies and fables should also not be heeding to them. Paul and Timothy would not be heeding to them, they would be full of faith and Spirit by their words and actions being one that lived by faith not by sight. The word unfeigned in the Greek translation is anupokritos, sounds like an-oo-pok'-ree-tos which means undisguised (not fake), sincere and not hypocritical.  It means  a pure faith that comes from a pure heart, and should also be proven in their lives.

A family that has cancer, mental, and other illnesses in their linage, God is telling us not to take heed of this genealogy or record.   This  is a "record" many are keeping today in explaining their suffering. When God clearly says do not give heed to these endless records.   If a parent lived a sinful life, had a record of mental illness, disease, or had a family lineage of crime; God is telling us do not give heed to this record. We are our own testimony of his power by faith in our Savior and this type of thinking hinders our faith and our relationship with God.

These endless records were causing them to swerve away from their life of faith, and giving them "jangled" speech. If we are heeding to them we too will have a "jangled" speech.

How can one believe a endless record of ancestry we can see, and still have faith in God we can't see at the same time?  We can't. We live by faith not by sight.  Taking heed to these lineage records gave a"jangled" speech, and kept them from receiving God's faith, and understanding of his truth in the early church, and it still holds true today.

The Greek translation for "jangling" is the word mataiologia, it sounds like mat-ah-yol-og-ee'-ah, which means vain talking or empty talk.  This would be talk or a belief you cannot affirm through his word, and also in the world which makes a person have no real proof of what they are saying, they are only basing everything they believe on a "record of lineage" that can be easily not proven to be 100% true.

In the KJV(King James Version) God's word says this type of beleiving and teaching promotes questions rather than "godly edifying" which is in faith: so do

In the NIV (New International Version)God's word says this type of teaching promotes controversies rather than "God's work" - which is by faith.

The word edifying in the Greek translation is oikodomia, sounds like oy-kod-om-ee'-ah, and this word is only said through this scripture in the Bible. It means the act of building up, or erection. This godly edifying, or this building of one self in God is through faith, and this we do.  So God is telling us this type of teaching hinders our  faith and promotes questions that cannot be answered. Faith is the only way we can be built up in God's presence through his love compelling us to obedience, and through his love and faith we can.  We hold on to what he gives us from within, and when we start beleiving in other ideas, or teaching other than faith in Him we are going in the wrong direction away from Him.

A family that has a lot of cancer in their lineage may have some that do, but not all of them may have it.  A family that has no cancer in their lineage may have one that has it, and neither family may not have faith in Christ, and some may. Those who are full of faith in Christ do not live by genealogies or records they live by faith in God our Father by what Christ gives them each day from the cross, it does not matter what records their lineage has, meaning they do not pay attention to those.  There is no empty words in Christ, no confusion  , no controversies, and only faith in the Father through the Son in all circumstances.  He will prove who he is, and that he is much greater than all genealogies or any record given.

Those who are anointed by His Spirit are their own testimony of faith in Jesus Christ, our Lord, and through their own relationship of faith the Father has given them we all share with one another. Those who are full of faith in Christ do not take heed in endless genealogies as Christ did not, and nor did his disciples after him.  He is the lineage we go by, he is the true record keeper through all his faithful children in the past that came before us.

We need to all be careful when we continue to ignore God when he is telling us a wrong belief and teaching we are following. We must pray, and ponder these words he gives us to receive His truth, and he will give us his love, and grace when we are obedient to his word.  If some continue living, and believing a wrong teaching because they ignore what  God gives them through his word of wisdom, he may give them the lie they are believing.

2 Thessalonians 2:9 Even him, whose coming is after the working of Satan with all power and signs and lying wonders,  and with all deceivableness of unrighteousness in them that perish; because they received not the love of the truth, that they might be saved. And for this cause God shall send them a strong delusion, that they should believe a lie; That they all might be damned who believed not the truth, but had pleasure in unrighteousness.

Any time we live without faith in Jesus Christ that is living a unrighteous life, because our right living, right being, right thinking, and right beleiving comes from God through Jesus Christ giving us all we need to live by. Those that are his children are who they are by the given gift of the grace of God through His Son's faith that comes from hearing His Word. When you hear this "record keeping" through endless genealogies being taught around you do not heed to their belief, it is not our Savior giving you that word, it comes from another source as Paul is trying to explain we too try, and explain through God's Spirit and word for all to benefit from.

His life giving Spirit gives life to our mortal bodies, souls and spirit we all have faith in, and share with others who truly love His truth. We love telling, sharing, and receiving His truth without controversies that genealogies create.

His peace and love always.
