If God loves me unconditionally why did his Son have to die for me?

Good morning, grace and peace be yours in abundance.

Since I have received Christ, he has taught me all new things that I never thought or could ever imagine that would be revealed to me about him and our Heavenly Father.  This should be happening to all who are his by fully surrendering all of ourselves to him in faith at the cross, because His Spirit will continually teach us all things we did not know, realize, or experience with Jesus, God our Father before. We will be seeing the world through different eyes, hearing with different ears, and thinking with a different mind. It is the same Spirit, the same mind, and the same purpose for all who are his. The world tells us we all have different minds, truths and opinions of our own to live by.  God on the other hand tells us through Christ we have One truth, mind, spirit and one purpose. We all may have different talents and gifts to use at different times and places but our thoughts, truth, and main purpose will all be the same. It is a continued life of us surrendering to him, and him molding us through faith in him with each circumstance and relationship he brings into our lives.   We live daily through his wisdom of living out his perfect will. With his courage, and confidence to do what ever he ask, and his strength to endure it.  Before he came to us from the cross we did not truly know Jesus the First Holy Son, our Heavenly Father or the Holy Spirit  which gives us our true identity of who we truly are as a result of knowing them as One as Jesus knew them as One.

1 Corinthians 2:8 None of the rulers of this age understood it, for it they had, they would not have crucified the Lord of glory, 9 However , as it is written: "No one has seen, no one has heard, no mind has conceived what God has prepared for those who love him' 10 but God has revealed it to us by his Spirit.

The same goes for his Disciples that came before us. Before we experience the cross we were in the world and apart of the world not understanding who he truly was or why he came. Before the cross we did not truly know him, his mind, or his ways. We did not know the Holy Spirit teaching us the meaning of his word.  We did not see Christ for who he truly was, nor know who he truly is intimately as our Lord, friend, and Father. We did not know the Son before going through the cross as the Son did, and without the Son we can never truly know our Heavenly Father.  The Cross changed the history of mankind, and opened up a way to Heaven now and for eternity for all who believe in who he truly is our Lord and Savior.  He saves us from our sins, and grants us the right to know our true God that brings us to our true selves with his righteous ways and truths that renews our mind to live by and in as his holy child. The words of wisdom we hear, and speak are no longer our own they are our Father's who sent us as he sent his Son through His Spirit.  He will continue to teach us and mold us into the image of his Son until it is time for us to go home, or he comes. Which ever he arranges first; our last day on earth, or the earth's last day before he comes with God's wrath upon it.

John 14:15 (Jesus said to his disciples) "If you love me, you will obey what I command. 16 And I will ask the Father, and he will give you another Counselor to be with you forever- 17 the Spirit of truth.  The world cannot accept him, because it neither sees him nor knows him.

John 14:23 Jesus replied, "If anyone loves me, he will obey my teaching.  My Father will love him, and we will come to him and make our home with him.  He who does not love me will not obey my teaching.  These words you hear are not my own; they belong to the Father who sent me. 25 "All this I have spoken while still with you. 26 But the Counselor, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in my name, will teach you ALL THINGS and will remind you of everything I have said to you.

There is a "If" we love him by what he gives us of himself from the cross, we will do what ever he says.  Then he will ask the Father and he will give us another Counselor to be with us forever. "If "we do not listen to what he says this will prove we truly do not love him above all.  "If" we love him by what he has given us freely from the cross then our Father will love us as his Son. There is a "condition" we have to be identified with before we know God's love unconditionally, and that is we have to go through the cross of his Son, and receive him.

This clearly states before we receive Christ we are part of the world as everyone else is a part of  the world. The "conditional love" God has for us that many people do not understand means all can come to the cross in any condition they are in and receive him so he can change them.  There is no one greater in the world than any other when it comes to receiving his Son, all are equally qualified as a need to be saved human soul. All souls are unworthy, and the soul of Jesus is the only soul worthy, this is why he died for us and took upon himself all souls to be saved through his. Jesus is the only one that is worthy enough to change our hearts, and make us complete with the Father as a reborn child, he is the only one that knows the true Father, and the true Father only knows the Son.  Our Father clearly states he does not love us as he does his Son Jesus until we accept his Son Jesus. He clearly says God loves us because we love the Son, not because of who we are, but because of who he our Savior is, his first Son Jesus Christ.  No one knows the Father but the Son and know one knows the Son except the Father. How can we know if we have not received his Son to know the Son's love for the Father or the Father's love for the Son. This "conditional love" does not mean God accepts us into heaven as we are before the cross. This is where many of us today get confused, God accepts us unconditionally to receive His Son, and only through his Son can we be reconciled to God, and redeemed into Heaven. God accepts us unconditionally when we go to the cross, but we have to accept the Son. He does give us extra points or less points in being a man or a woman, our different sins, our color of skin, our rebellious attitude, our stubbornness, our pride, our wealth, our high positions, our low positions, our high education, or low education all he looks at is our desperate need in wanting to be saved by him. Our Father gives us a need to know that we need to be saved by His Son on the Cross.   Our poverty in spirit that we have acknowledge, our contrite spirit is revealed to us from the cross, and he can only make us aware of that by His Spirit he reveals to us. Only he can reveal how poor in spirit we truly are.

John 6:44 No one can come to me unless the Father draws him, and I will raise him up at the last day.  45 It is written in the Prophets: 'They will all be taught by God;' Everyone who listens to the Father and learns from him, comes to me. 46 No one has seen the Father except the one who is from God; only he has seen the Father.

Why would the Father draw some people and not draw others?  God draws all people from the cross, but not all people are going to believe in the Son to be "raised" up the last day of their lives.  They will give up, turn to other gods before him, love themselves, leave his word that is to hard for them to follow, and choose not to listen to him any longer.  These are not true believers, and he knows the ones who will turn away from him.    They will "raise" themselves to mold God into the image they want to follow instead of letting Jesus "raise" them.  Those who truly believe in Him want to be raised by him and him alone.  One of the most beautiful words of Jesus to his disciples are given to us in John 15.

John 15:3 You are already clean because of the word I have spoken to you.  Remain in me, and I will remain in you.  No branch can bear fruit by itself: it must remain in the vine.  Neither can you bear fruit unless you remain in me.

"Remain in me, and I will remain in you." Once he comes to us and reveals who he is than it is up to us to walk, talk, and learn as he did through the gift of his Spirit. "These are not my words, they are Spirit."  We have to remain in him by having faith in all he gives us of himself each day as we surrender ourselves to him. He will never drive us away, but we can drive ourselves away by idol worship, by following other wisdom, and by continuing to sin by not crucifying the old sinner we were before the cross in us daily.

John 6:35 Then Jesus declared, "I am the bread of life.  He who comes to me will never go hungry, and he who believes in me will never be thirsty.  36 But as I told you, you have seen me and still you do not believe.  37 All that the Father gives me will come to me, and whoever comes to me I will never drive away. 36 For I have come down from heaven not to do my will but to do the will of him who sent me.  39 And this is the will of him who sent me, that I shall lose none of all that he has given me, but raise them up at the last day.

God wants to love us as his Son, and his Son was planed to come before the world was created. God does not want to love us as sinners living continually in sin. This is not the message of the cross.  When we all go to the cross we are all sinners, but when we go through the cross we are a new creature, and he begins his work in us as we remain in him and his word. This is the condition of his love, we have to receive his Son to know our Father's love for us and our love for him.  Before the cross we do not know this love, nor can we. "If" anyone loves me, he will obey my teaching." If anyone truly has received him at the cross from Godly sorrow that leads to repentance, if we love him we will obey, and trust all he says as Lord of our lives.  We have given him all rights to our minds, souls, and body as our Lord, friend and Father, through faith from the cross, and we are his little sponges that soak in his teachings, ways, and thoughts as his reborn child through Christ. This is why were were created, to learn of him and his ways so he could get all the glory, and all the praise. The Father loves us because we have loved his first Holy Son and believe he came from God, that again is our "conditional love" we have to be in before we know.

John 16:26 In that day you will ask in my name.  I am  not saying that I will ask the Father on your behalf. 27 No, the Father himself loves you because you have loved me and have believed that I came from God. 28 I came from the Father and entered the world; now I am leaving the world and going back to the Father.

When we begin this walk with him in us and guiding us he will tell us things we have to give up above him, and one of the first things he will teach us will not be what we expect at all through our natural human nature, and Satan will deceive many when we do not love God above all.  It is more than believing in a man, in a work, in a good deed, it is believing he came from God for the Father's will and purpose in saving the world from sin. We think we are loving as he loved us, but many today are being deceived by Satan.  We should be loving as he loved us by doing our Father's will as he did for others. What he gives us of himself will save people through us when we put him above them. Many today do not obey his teachings because they truly do not love him enough too, and he is not working in and through them for his purpose. Satan is deceiving many today in God's church, families, and world.  Many think they are bringing peace to the world by loving all people and accepting all people the way they want to live, and how they want to live, but that was NOT our "Father's business". To love as he loved us means we will be doing what he did on earth, and that may cause some division in our families, churches, work, and communities all around us.  He is the only peace we can know by receiving him above all.

Luke 12:49 "I have come to bring fire on the earth, and now I wish it were already kindled!  50 But I have a baptism to undergo, and how distressed I am until it is completed! 51 Do you think I came to bring peace on earth? No, I tell you, but division.  From now on there will be five in one family divided against each other, three against two and two against three.  53 They will be divided, father against son and son against farther, mother against daughter and daughter against mother, mother-in-law against daughter -in-law and daughter-in- law against mother-in-law.

Matthew 10:37 "Anyone who loves his father or mother more than me is not worthy of me, anyone who loves his son or daughter more than me is not worthy of me.  38 and any who do not take his cross and follow me is not worthy of me.  39 Whoever finds his life will lose it, and whoever loses his life for my sake will find it.

Many do not understand the meaning of these scriptures because they are not willing to put all things and people above him, and until you do he is not going to give you the meaning of these words.  Luke uses the word hate, and Matthew does not.  It is not that we "hate" our families, but compared to the love we have for him compared to our family in comparison it may seam like "hate." That is how great his love is above our natural love for one another.  Many today are not allowing his love to grow in them because they have many idols they put above him. Today it is people and our human spirit being idolized most above him. Many claim they can love without God telling them how to love, and still others who think they are loving him above others truly are not. The evidence of his life is not being revealed through them. It is plain to see if you are looking through his eyes, thoughts, deeds signs, wonders and miracles. This also has been the main idols since the creation of the world so it should not surprise any of us when he reveals this truth to us.  The first commandment has to be lived out in us through his Son before we can complete the second through his Son.  God is telling us through Luke and Matthew we must love God above all, especially ourselves, and others so he can save all of our family, and others through us, and they can save us through him.  Which is like iron sharpening iron making sparks of  fire from the Holy Spirit fly between us up to heaven. Those who are not strong in faith may quickly fall away from God's love and grace when God tells you these scriptures if you truly do not love him above all things, yourself, family, and friends. You may walk away from him because you are not willing to put his love above all others but you may not realize truly what you are doing and not hearing what you are saying.  When you put Him above all, he will care for all you have put below him. That is the cost of following him, but what you gain will surpass anything you have lost for his sake.  Many people today are losing friends, money, houses, jobs and other things but it is not for HIS sake. You have to loose your life for his sake before you find your true life. Many today are not willingly to do that because there to much friction and confrontation from family and friends they don't want to deal with. It is true you make feel more comfortable but you have not idea what you are missing out on.  Many do not realize the friction because their main focus is on others, and their natural love for them. We are only his friends when we do what he says, but we would rather be friendly with who we see, and who is in front of us rather than God whom we can't see.

John 15:14 You are my friends "if" you do what I command.  15 I no longer call you servants, because a servant does not know his maters's business.  Instead, I have called you friends, for everything that I learned from my Father I have made known to you. You did not choose me, but I chose you and appointed you to go and bear fruit-fruit that will last. Then the Father will give what ever you ask in my name. 17 This is my command love each other.

The way we love each other is by doing the "Master's business", there is no greater love than to do the "Master's business" for someone else.  There is no greater love for someone else than telling someone about Jesus and the Father and why he came to save us so we could know the Father's love for us, and ours for him. His love is the only love that continually changes us, and saves us from all the evil in us, and in the world. Who of us today are truly willing to take that step in wanting to truly love him above all.  This may mean you have to say things, and do things that may cause someone else to reject you. He will bring people that need to know the "Master's business".  To remain in his love and him to remain in our love we have to do as he ask by using his word, and we have to want to be apart of "his business" for sharing all he gives us for others at all cost. This is the "unconditional love"  we all know and share only through his Son, not before the cross, we do not know his love before the cross, but only after we go through the cross in faith and caring it daily buy denying ourselves does his love change us into doing and knowing the "Master's business".  Only this love has no conditions, we are totally free from having to please others through his Son, our unconditional love the Father gives is a love that we only have to please him. What he makes us will be truly ourselves physically, emotionally and spiritually for others to be drawn to HIM!

His love and peace always!
