Good morning to all, grace and peace from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ.
Another holiday was celebrated with my family over the weekend. This holiday week was what man chose to celebrate the crucifixion, and resurrection of our Lord Jesus Christ, and what man has chosen to call Easter.
We always celebrate this holiday at my mothers, and fathers house. The home they live in now is a great place they have been blessed with by our Heavenly Father to share these holidays. It is a modest home, warm, cozy, and useful with a country setting. Their home has been blessed with many memories shared with my family. This is not the home I was raised in, all though that home was also very modest, warm, cozy and useful as well, but it had a suburban setting.
When I say family I mean my husband, sons, and daughters, a few of my uncles, aunts, sister, brother, nieces, nephews, first, and second cousins, but not many of those due to their own celebrations. Of course over the years some can't come, don't want to come, children get older, have moved, and because of their work schedules. This past weekend there were about twenty of us there. For those of you that follow my blog know my family is made up of all kinds of people. Most claim to be "Christians" if you were to walk up to them, and ask them. Most of them would claim to have a relationship with God, and with Jesus. Of course when you talk with them or spend any time with them, and you are recognizing their spirits through the true Spirit of God that is living in you he is proven not to to be working in them. Some continue to live daily in sin without showing a sign of repentance. Some are living in sin, and claim it is not a sin. Some do not truly believe the Bible. Some store up material possessions, some do not deny themselves, or their own understanding. Some His fruit of the Spirit is clearly not present. Some put many other things before him, including things, and people. There are a very few in my family that have fully surrendered their lives to Christ as him being their LORD of their lives, and do those few practice their faith first with other family members?
1 Timothy 5:3 Give proper recognition to those widows who are really in need. But if a widow has children or grandchildren, these should learn first of all to put their religion into practice by caring for their own family and so repaying their parents and grandparents, for this is pleasing to God.
5:8 If anyone does not provide for his relatives, and especially for his mediate family, he has denied the faith and is worse than an unbeliever.
Paul is talking about practicing sharing our faith in giving all we have in faith in Christ for our families first before we go out into the world. Many think Paul is only talking about giving money to our families but faith in practice includes all things that Christ gives us of himself. Their salvation of their souls should come first through the Spirit of God, then he will work through us for others in the world beyond our families. The question is how many truly show their faith in practice with their families first? Paul is talking about all resources God gives us through himself with money, his word, and through the deeds he works through us should be proven in our families first. With man it is impossible to go the right way, with the right courage, right temperament, and with the right motives using all of God's resources, but with God all is possible! It all has to come through the Spirit of God for his purpose, and he will work all things in a person and through a person to complete every work a person's family needs. Our families might not want him, but they need him, and he knows what they need, and reveals it to His reborn children in Christ. The question is are we who have fully surrendered to Christ truly practicing our faith first with our families?
For me, the answer to this question is yes. I am planting his little seeds of truth in every conversation, and in some conversations I am digging out the lies, fertilizing, and watering at the proper time when they reveal a deep need for both. If we are looking at ourselves as fig tress then some of the trees in my family are brown, withering without a strong root in Him. While mine is green, and my roots are strong by what he has clearly given me. We have to remember His Spirit dwells in us, and we listen to him as our LORD, as we listen to others. We try to understand where they are coming from so he can respond to their every need as we know he response to our every need. I do not know what they need, or recognize their need until HE reveals it to me. I am his to use any way he needs me to be used. So I listen very carefully to others and to Him. He is my voice, eyes, ears, hands, and feet. This should be how we are lead everywhere we go in the world by the Spirit of God. He works continually in us, and through us for others. We do not know where he is taking us, or what he will reveal to us, all we know is we need him, we fully trust him, and we know he wants all others to believe the same as we do in Him. He does not force them or hate anyone who does not, but he will continually plant, water, fertilize, and handle all all trees that are dead for them to grow and produce his fruit.
If the Spirit of God is in us He will handle their response, he is our shield. We should not be afraid of what any human, or this world can do to us when we have God, and his limitless supply of power and grace that comes from within. What ever you lose in this life time for his sake, he will replace it with much more on earth during this life so you can use it for all he wants it to be used for, as well as your eternal life in Heaven.
Luke 18:29 "I tell you the truth," Jesus said to them, "No one who has left home or wife or brothers or parents or children for the sake of the kingdom of God will fail to receive many times as much in this age and, in the age to come, eternal life.
We live today in a world that does not like confronting evil, or the deception of sin, and what it does. While Jesus confronted all things head on, people, and evil spirits daily. It has become a world that believes in "live and let live"gives you peace. If my sister is living a life that I know is not pleasing to God many "Christians" today would let her live the way she wants to with no confrontation or battling the evil spirits of deception all around her for all to benefit from. If my niece is a lesbian, many "Christians" today believe I should let her live the way she wants to, and ignore the sin, and the life style she is living. Christ would not, and he surely would love her enough to tell her the truth to lead her in the right direction. So the question is why are we not doing this today as he did if we are claiming he is in us?
Did Christ ignore me when I was living a life of sin? Was Christ scared to confront my sinful nature? Was Christ afraid to confront the darkness in me? Did Christ ignore me when I was living a lifestyle he did not approve of? Did Christ ignore my sinful nature? NO, he did not! Thank God! Through someone else that was his child who was not afraid of confronting the evil, he brought me to the Cross through them. I received HIS SPIRIT, and I have walked in Him everyday since. If Christ is in us then God is sending Him in us, just has he sent Him. He will never ignore my daughter, son, nieces, nephews, uncles, aunts, mother, and father living a life of error, living a different wisdom than he provides, and living a different life he has planned for them. He will not ever ignore my niece in her confusion, and going down the broad worldly path because he loves her through me to bring her to the cross, repent, and receive the Spirit of him that gives her a new life, and a new understanding of who God truly is through His Son. He will not ignore a family member that worships material possessions, money or people above him. He wants to tell, and show those through me HE IS REAL and by his power in us we can deny all worldly pleasures above Him. He wants to speak his truth through me for all to benefit from including myself by letting him.
Last week, last weekend, and everyday if Christ is in you, and you know you have fully surrendered do you let him work through you for others in your family by first showing your faith in him giving you, and all around you what they truly need physically, spiritually, and emotionally? Do you give HIS love, wisdom, and deeds for all to change them into a true child of God? If you are not then you are denying the faith and God sees you worse than an unbeliever, because you know you are a pencil in his hands, and yet you do not let him speak, and work through you for others. Go to Christ and begin today making him Lord of your life, and listen to his words, and the true narrow path that leads you to do his will for your life, and do not to live by your own understanding that is deceiving you.
His peace and love always.
