“For out of the overflow of his heart his mouth speaks.”
Have you ever been around someone that continues to say the right thing, and is always sharing great wisdom and encouragement from God’s word? Does it irritate you, or are you drawn to them? I was never around anyone most of my life that overflowed out of their hearts God’s word and wisdom. Now that I truly know Him by His presence living in me I am drawn to them, and can’t wait to hear and share what overflows out of their hearts He has given them through their mouths to bear fruit for Him.
Luke 6:43 “No good tree bears bad fruit, nor does a bad tree bear good fruit. Each tree is recognized by its own fruit.
Before I knew my Lord I did not talk about Him at all, in fact He was the farthest thing from my heart and mind. Out of my mouth came all kinds of wisdom, some good, and some bad. The good that came out of my mouth was about me and what I could do own my own to make my life better, and it had nothing to do with faith in God giving me all I needed of himself through Christ to make my life better. Jesus, His life was never mentioned or acknowledged, nor was His faith, and the Cross. The bad was coarse joking, making fun of others and their weaknesses, joking about my weaknesses, and a lot of godless chatter.
The good man brings good things out of the good stored up in his heart, and the evil man brings evil things out of the evil stored up in his heart.
Since I received Him from the Cross I have had a different heart and a renewed mind and what has come out of my mouth since then has been much different than what came out of my mouth before. His word dwells in me because He does. I have a new heart totally devoted to Him. The bad fruit I am willing to cut out for Him because my heart is truly his, and His good knowledge, understanding, wisdom from His nature He puts in. Those are all his gifts and fruits that I bare from the good tree He has made me.
His good wisdom is much different than my good wisdom. His wisdom makes my wisdom seam foolish, and what overflows from my heart that comes out of my mouth may seem foolish to others. Some that use to be close to me before persecute my righteousness now, but it is not mine, it is His because it is His wisdom, his thoughts, his words and ways he has stored up in my heart that come out of my mouth. I am no longer a tree that bears bad fruit I am His tree that bears His fruit.
1 Corinthians 1:28 He chose the lowly things of this world and the despised things-and the things that are not-to nullify the things that are, so that no one may boast before him. It is because of him that you are in Christ Jesus, who has become for us wisdom from God-that is, our righteousness, holiness, and redemption. Therefore, as it is written: “Let him who boasts boast in the Lord.”
Before I had evil overflowing from my heart, my own wisdom, course joking, making fun of others and their weaknesses, and godless chatter. I was a bad tree bearing bad fruit but I did not experience persecution from my loved ones because we were all bearing the same kind of fruit, from the same kind of tree. We all were not living by God’s Holy word, wisdom and applying it to our lives daily to live by.
Once I gave my life fully to Christ I began bearing God’s fruit, His ways, and thoughts through His word. I began being persecuted from some that were closest to me, family, friends and other “Christians” they began getting irritated by His wisdom that overflowed from His new heart he had given me was coming out of my mouth, and some didn’t desire to be around me any longer. His truth should have been embraced and shared was being persecuted.
Matthew 5:10-12 Blessed are those who are persecuted because of righteousness, for theirs is the kingdom of Heaven. Bless are you when people insult you, persecute you and falsely say all kinds of evil against you because of me. Rejoice and be glad, because great is your reward in heaven, for in the same way they persecuted the prophets who were before you.
If a person has fully surrendered to God, Jesus tells us, this will happen to them because of Him. If a person’s heart truly belongs to Jesus persecution will not keep them from doing His will. They will continue to overflow out of their mouth what He has put in their hearts no matter the cost. Their heart truly does belong to Him.
Matthew 13:23 But the one who received the seed that fell on good soil is the man who hears the word and understands it. He produces a crop, yielding a hundred, sixty or thirty times what was sown.
Many today because of the trouble of persecution against His righteousness He has given them through His word fall away from God. Many would rather please themselves, their loved ones, communities, churches, friends, and co-workers than please God. God tells us these trees will not produce His crop because their hearts are not truly his because once persecution comes they quickly fall way. He tells us they do not continue to grow and produce His fruit.
Matthew 13:20 The one who received the seed that fell on rocky place is the man who hears the word and at once receives it with joy. But since he has no root, he last only a short time. When trouble or persecution comes because of the word, he quickly falls away.
Today if you have noticed within yourself the overflow of His righteousness is coming out of your mouth is irritating to others keep your heart completely soft and devoted to Him do not fall away because of persecution or a fear of others persecuting you in any way. Be more fearful of God and losing your heart being fully devoted to Him. He will provide for you what you need within yourself to continue, and he will take care of others that are persecuting you and who you are praying for because you are completely His!
