A Bible study about God's love and spiritual gifts

A Bible Study about God's love and Spiritual gifts.

I have been praying to my Father for some time asking him why I have a great desire to speak out what He is revealing to me in church. At first I thought it was strange, rude and thought it may be Satan for brief moments after many told me it was rude and interrupting the service. I knew it was God edifying His church and Satan would never be the one to do that.  I had a deep desire to pour out what God was putting in, but I did not, and I burned inside when I didn’t. I began writing everything down instead of speaking out loud what He wanted me to say, and it seemed to lessen the burn. I prayed to my Heavenly Father and He comforted me telling me to “Take courage do not fear I am with you.”

One church got to the point they were tired of me saying Amen, and praising Jesus out loud, so I left that church after the Pastor advised me to since I was being persecuted from a few of the church leaders. That was about 4 years ago and since then I still get this huge desire to speak out these spiritual revelations that God has given me during services when I attend other churches. I have read many words of God revealing to me what is happening within me, and the Spirit should be allowed to speak through His revelations given to His children for the building up of His Kingdom, but today churches do not worship that way.

Today most churches do not worship as the Bible proclaims, and I am waiting patiently for God to tell me what I need to do when it comes to joining a church that does not worship as He wants or intended for them to worship.  This day, September 9, 2016 God lead me to write this Bible study. I will post it on my blog hoping others will understand how God’s children that believe in Him are supposed to live, which I am not seeing a lot of today nor have I ever heard of many living this way in my life time according to this way God describes to us through His Word. I know His disciples lived their lives this way in the first church but not today.  I believe this is why not many are being healed today, many are not prophesying, and the gifts of the Spirit is being ignored.  His miracles, signs and unexplained wonders are not taking place as they should in many of his children’s lives today as they were then. We are not following the way of His love, listening and following Him as He lived out His life through the Spirit of truth. I pray this Bible study will prove His presence is in your life, and if not, you can always begin today!

1 Corinthian 14

1 Corinthian 14:1 Follow the way of love and eagerly desire spiritual gifts, especially the gift of prophesy.

What is Chapter 14 about, and what does it reveal? God taught us about his love in 1 Corinthians 13, and now He is telling us if we are following his love as he suggested in chapter 13 through His Spirit then we will start desiring spiritual gifts; especially the gift of prophesy. He tells us about the gifts in chapter 14 and how we are to use his gifts among other believers for the lost sinner that enters our worship service, or our lives no matter if it is two or a thousand people.

Do you find yourself desiring what the Spirit desires? Of course we know the Spirit of God has all the gifts of God, so if we are following the way of love through the Spirit of God, God tells us we then will be desiring all the gifts He has.

Do you find your natural self being transformed into the Spiritual by God’s definition of love? Do you recognize your natural love changing into His spiritual love? If not then you are not going to be desiring all the spiritual gifts. You are not ready yet. Are you holding back something God is asking you to give up? Has His gift of faith in you proven to be genuine?  Are you holding on to a sin, or bitterness in your heart toward someone else? Are you ignorant to His work in you because you have been taught wrong?  His love is what drives us to desire all His Spiritual gifts, and if you are not following the way of his love then he will not give you the desires for his gifts, nor will his gifts be given.

If you are following Him and the transformation of your natural love has been proven to be transformed into His Spiritual love, and you find yourself desiring all His gifts especially prophesy are you using it? Let us see what this gift is before we testify if we are using it or not.

Prophesy – The Greek word is propheteuo sounds like prof-ate-yoo’-o.
Definition – 1) to prophesy, to be a prophet, speak forth by divine inspirations, to predict.
 a) to prophesy
 b) with the idea of foretelling future events pertaining to the Kingdom of God
c) to utter forth, declare, a thing which can only be known by divine revelation
d) to break forth under sudden impulse in lofty discourse or praise of the divine council
e) under like prompting, to teach, refute, reprove, admonish, comfort others.
) to act as a prophet, discharge the prophetic office

To act as a prophet does not mean to glorify yourself as a prophet by giving yourself a title of "Prophet" as many are doing today. Look at Jesus and those that followed after him, the first 12 disciples, and others after never gave themselves a title to proclaim them being except children of God, saints, believers, and Christians.  They never worshiped or glorified themselves or others in any way, only Him. They honored each other  because of what He gave each other, and it did not included title, awards or statutes of one one another. To act as a prophet merely means to act out what God puts in, not to glorify yourself but Him so others will be drawn to Him not yourself.

Verse 3 But everyone who prophesies speaks to men for their strengthening, encouragement, and comfort.

Revelation -  The Greek work is apokalupsis – sounds like ap-ok-al’-oop-sis
Definition   -  laying bear making naked, a disclosure of truth, concerning things before unknown
                       Manifestation of divine appearance

God is telling us through His Spirit when we are following His love through His Spirit we will be...

1)predicting future events pertaining to the Kingdom of God through the divine inspirations from God.

2)teaching through the divine revelation from the presence of God,
3)praising through the divine revelation from the presence of God,

4)refuting, reproving, admonishing and comforting others through the divine revelation from the presence of God. This is prophesying.

Verse 3 (KJV) But he that prophesieth speaketh unto men to edification, exhortation, and comfort.

Edification – Greek wordoikodome – sounds like oy-kod-omay”
Definition       the act of building up
the act of one who promotes anothers grown in Christian wisdom, peity,
                        joy, and holiness

Exhortation – Greeek word paraklesis – sounds like par-ak’-lay-sis
Definition       a calling near, to summon, impartation, the act of importing, to bring in or to
                        Introduce, supply to connect
Comfort – Greek word – paramuthia – sounds like par-am-oo-thee’-ah
Definition -   any address whether made for the purpose of persuading, or of arousing, stimulating, calming and consoling.

Verse 6 Now, brothers, if I come to you and speak in tongues, what good will I be to you, unless I bring you some revelation, or knowledge or prophecy or word of instruction (KJV – doctrine- instead of instruction.)

Revelation - we have already identified.

Knowledge – Greek word Gnosis – sounds like gno’-sis
Definition  -   understanding of God and His law and what is unlawful and lawful

Instruction means
Doctrine   -  Greek word Didache-sounds like dd-akh-ay’
Definition -  that which is taught through God's word concerning something, a word of instruction responding to a problem or need that He can only give.

Verse 22 Tongues, then, are a sign, not for believers but for unbelievers; prophecy however, is for believers, not for unbelievers.

V24 But if an unbeliever or someone who does not understand (some inquirer) comes in while everybody is prophesying, he will be convinced by all he is a sinner and will be judged by alland the secrets of his heart will be laid bareSo he will fall down and worship God, exclaiming,God is really among you!

This should be what is happening among God’s believing children today, but is it?

Is all prophesying through the Spirit?
Is all judging one another correctly through the Spirit?
Are our hearts being laid bare?

Luke 8:17 For there is nothing hidden that will not be disclosed and nothing concealed tat will not be known or about out into the open. Therefore consider carefully how you listen. Whoever has will be given more; whoever  does not have even what he thinks he has will be taken away.

Is anyone coming in your life and falling down before God and being changed because God is truly in, and working through you or others around you? If people are not then you may not be following the way of His love and truly listening to Him by the faith He gives you. Your love and faith may be your own, and the love you share might also be your own you have molded into your own image.

The great news is if no one is in your life bowing down to God as you did and are still, and changing as you did and are still because you are not following His love in you, you can begin today in your life receiving His love and His faith working in and through you.

He will give you a heart of repentance, and you can tell Him you are sorry for not following the way of His love in truth within yourself with a sincere heart ,and He will forgive you and give you His faith and wisdom of his love within yourself to begin following so you too will be given the spiritual gifts of Christ within yourself to be used for His purpose.

You will be given the opportunity to receive the knowledge of the purpose of your own existence is in Him, and see the gift of His prophesy work in your own life! It will begin being a life with many unexplained revelations He can only explain!
