Do I truly love Him?
Many clearly do not know God today but many claim they do and those that do can recognize those that don’t through His Given Spirit. Some say they hear God, feel God and they are led by the Holy Spirit. Some say they believe God’s word is true and they say they live by it, but do they do what HE says? Who a person is listening too, and what they are doing will determine if they are being led by His word through His Spirit or not. Today we are going to look in the mirror, face the truth and don’t forget what we see.
James 1:21 Therefore, get rid of all moral filth, and the evil that is so prevalent and humbly accept the word planted in you, which can save you. Do not merely listen to the word, and so deceive yourselves. Do what it says. Anyone who listens to the word but does not do what it says is like a man who looks at his face in a mirror and after looking at himself, goes away and immediately forgets what he looks like. But the man who looks intently into the perfect law that gives freedom, and continues to do this, not forgetting what he has heard, but doing it-he will be blessed in what he does.
First, IF a person loves God and wants to be a disciple or a follower of Christ they will want to crucify all moral filth, and the evil that is so prevalent in them because they want to please God, not themselves or others. They will humbly accept God’s word planted in them. This is something his true children will do because they love Him by all He has revealed to them about Himself from the Cross through His given message. God has chosen to reveal himself too all people and those who hear Him will know through His Given Spirit He has washed them clean from evil, sin, and their moral goodness. They will have received the knowledge of His Holiness and presence within them is much greater than their natural morality, and if they truly love Him they will humbly accept His word within them, and do what HE says. If they don’t love Him as their Lord and Savior, they will not be doers of His word.
Our natural morality can keep us away from God and we can be deceived by it. We know that we need to get rid of all that is not Him in us, and we humbly bow down to His word that is within us in keeping us right and true in His image. If a person has given up themselves humbly to God in repentance because of His presence they will receive the promise of the Holy Spirit, if they have not given up themselves in repentance they will not receive the Holy Spirit, no rebirth will occur. The people that love the world and what is in the world above him cannot accept nor can they see Him or know Him.
Acts 1:4 On one occasion, while he was eating with them, he gave them this command: Do not leave Jerusalem, but wait for the gift my Father promised, which you have heard me speak about. For John baptized with water, but in a few days, you will be baptized with the Holy Spirit.
John 14:15 “If you love me, you will obey what I command. And I will ask the Father, and he will give you another Counselor to be with you forever- the Spirit of truth. The world cannot accept him, because it neither sees him nor knows him. But you know him, for he lives with you and will be in you. I will not leave you orphans; I will come to you.
God draws all people to the Cross but only those that love Him will obey what He commands, and be doers of His word. The others will not live by the Spirit of truth, but those that do want to please Him will receive the Holy Spirit and His power within that Counsels them forever and gives them the power and grace to say no to all ungodliness, those that do not love God will not have the power to say no to ungodliness and live forever with the Counselor of truth, because they love other things and people above Him. The Holy Spirit is our witness of the change that occurs within each of us that proves our love for God and His love for us.
Titus 2:11 For the Grace of God that brings salvation has appeared to all men. It teaches us to say “NO” to ungodliness and worldly passions, and to live self-controlled, up right and godly lives in this present age.
1 John 5:3 This is love for God: to obey his commands. And his commands are not burdensome for everyone born of God overcomes the world. This the victory that has overcome the world, even or faith. Who is it that overcomes the world? Only he who believes that Jesus is the Son of God. This is the one who came by water and blood-Jesus Christ. He did not come by water only, but buy water and blood. And it is the Spirit who testifies because the Spirit is the truth.
John 14:21 Whoever has my commands and obeys them, he is the one that loves me. He who loves me will be loved by my Father, and I too will love him and show myself to Him.
The people that love God will always obey His commands. Whatever He is asking them to give up they will out of the love they have for Him saving them fromm death and giving them NEW BIRTH through His faith and grace. Those that love Him deny themselves, have faith in Him, and carry their cross He has given them daily. He will give them the grace to overcome any stronghold that has taken them captive because they love Him above all things and people. He wants to prove who He truly is through them. It does not matter how strong the sin or strong the struggle is, if a person loves God, God will break any stronghold through His power and grace if a person remains in Him; He will do it. Through a person’s love for God they receive through the Son they will follow Him and His commands and the Father and Son will both love them and show themselves to them through His Spirit, they will become one with the Father as the Son is with the Father.
John 14:23 Jesus replied, “If anyone loves me, he will obey my teaching. My Father will love him, and we will come to him and make our home with him. He who does not love me will not obey my teaching; These words you hear are not my own; they belong to the Father who sent me.
Not only will His Spirit give his true children full assurance about their salvation, but the Holy Spirit will begin teaching them all things, about God, through His Spirit that opens up his word that is planted within them; His Holy Bible. He will remind them of everything Jesus has ever said.
That has been proven in my life, and if He has proven it in mine He surely will in everyone’s that truly love Him. He would not prove to be true in my own life and not prove it in others. That would make Him out to be a liar and I know He is not. We will have His peace that surpasses our own natural understanding and He loves to prove it.
There will be no confusion or other voices in a persons mind, heart or soul that can ever take away His voice and presence of peace, and love He has given them. His true peace will always calm the hearts of those that love Him like no other peace they can receive from any other voice, that can keep them from worry, doubt and fear of any kind taking them captive. He loves to prove this in His children lives who love Him.
A natural human being, or soul living through his own wisdom and understanding no matter how old or young cannot understand the Spirit of God, nor do they know the love of God. Spiritual maturity in Christ and natural maturity belong to different worlds, and two different kingdoms. He does not give the same way the world gives. Only through His Spirit can a child, or an adult know the deep things of God and what God has planned for those that love Him. As one grows in His Spirit one will mature in His Spirit no matter what age. Each will be unified through His given Spirit.
1 Corinthians 2:9 However, as it is written: “No eye has seen, no ear has heard, no mind has conceived what God has prepared for those that love him” (Isaiah 64:4) But God has revealed it to us by his Spirit. The Spirit searches all things, even the deep things of God. For who among men knows the thoughts of a man except the man’s spirit within him, in the same way no one knows the thoughts of God except the Spirit of God.
John 14:25 All this I have spoken while still with you. But the Counselor, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in my name, will teach you all things and will remind you of everything I have said to you. Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid.
1 Timothy 1:12 Don’t let anyone look down on you because you are young, but set an example for the believers in speech, in life, in love, in faith and in purity.
Our spirit testifies with His Spirit if we are God’s children or not, and through our repentance in giving up ourselves to Him making us what we cannot shows our love for Him no matter what age, gender, social status, sin or wickedness we may have done, or education we have. Our spirit will testify with HIS SPIRIT by the change within ourselves and the work he has done through us that testifies we are His children no matter who we are. His true children no longer live according to their sinful natures no matter what age, gender, race, social status, rich, poor, or past wickedness they have lived in, and what their flesh and natural nature desires, but they live according to His Spirit and what He desires for them.
Romans 8:13 For if you live according to the sinful nature, you will die; but if by the Spirit you put to death the misdeeds of the body, you will live, because those who are led by the Spirit of God are sons of God. For you did not receive a spirit that makes you a slave again to fear, but you receive the Spirit of sonship. And by him we cry, Abba Father. The Spirit himself testifies with our spirit that we are God’s children.
The question we need to ask ourselves is do we truly love Him? Are our lives proving we listen to the teachings of Jesus, and His Father’s teachings throughout His Word through His life given Spirit because we are doers of His word, and not doers of man, the world, and their teachings and works? Jesus is the Word of God that lives in us. Are we listening to Him, or to others?
Are we being drawn to others that know Him and are living through His Spirit of truth, or are we being drawn to others that do not know Him and are living to please their sinful natures? Are we being drawn to others that want to hear what their itching ears want to hear and not going by His sound doctrine? Are we being drawn by apostles that are masquerading as angles of light boasting about their works, themselves and others?
2 Timothy 4:2 Preach the Word; be prepared in season and out of season; correct, rebuke and encourage-with great patience and careful instruction. For the time will come when me will not put up with sound doctrine. Instead, to suit their own desires, they will gather around them a great number of teachers to say what their itching ears want to hear.
2 Corinthians 11:13 For such men are false apostle, deceitful workmen, masquerading as apostles of Christ. And no wonder, for Satan himself masquerades as an angel of light. It is not surprising, then, if his servants masquerade as servants of righteousness. Their end will be what their actions deserve.
Are we truly facing His truth or justifying and compromising our false hood? Are we willing to suffer has He suffered through persecution? We clearly want His grace, blessings, and forgiveness, but do we truly want to live in His truth, and through His judgment? Are we focused on the good, focused on the bad, or are we focused on Him and His Spirit of truth so He can expose the spirits whether they are true and good, or false and wicked? Are we being free in Him?
Are we living in rose colored glasses, dark, and dim glasses, or CLEAR, and true glasses that are focused on Him and His truth for building up His true Kingdom through His word that is planted within us? We need to all look in the mirror today and face all these questions through HIS TRUTH; and if we love Him or not will be answered for each of us. If you think you are deceiving yourself go to someone that you know loves you enough to be honest with you so both of you can encourage one another through His truth.
Titus 3:3 At one time we too were foolish, disobedient, deceived and enslaved by all kinds of passions and pleasures. We lived in malice and envy being hated and hating one another. But when the kindness and love of God our Savior appeared, he saved us, not because of righteous things we had done, but because of his mercy. He saved us through the washing of rebirth and renewal by the Holy Spirit who he poured out on us generously through Jesus Christ our Savior, so that, having been justified by his grace, we might become heirs having the hope of eternal life.
The good news is there is time now for all of us to change and be more in love with Him because of His mercy and truth of who He truly is through His word that is planted in each of us!! We can now pray to Him if we truly desire to love Him as we should, and want to know His truth and love that He wants to pour on and out of us for others. If we truly want to please Him, and want to listen to Him above all others and do what HE says we will humble ourselves and face His truth He will reveal to us.
We can ask Him to forgive us for not putting Him above ourselves, others, and things in our lives with a truthful heart. He will forgive us if we are honest with Him and ourselves. He will change us through His forgiveness and amazing grace each of us can receive. He will answer by giving us all we need through His Spirit of truth washing us clean of all falsehood that binds us.
We can rise to a higher stepping stone, or start our first stepping stone that gives us our truest life of His gift of knowledge we are saved now, and are being led by Him into His Kingdom that separates us from the world and it's passions and desires. We can receive the knowledge of His presence living within us now and forever in eternity by being a doer of His word that is planted within us, and never leave Him. Our future will have an amazing outcome with HIS renewal through His grace making everyday a living miracle in Him to spread around the world! We can begin now together walking hand and hand in His Spirit and presence molding and guiding us with HIS love of truth!
