What kind of mission are you own and who made you a missionary?
With all these storms, wars, terrorist attacks, poverty, and homeless increasing all over the world there are many missions increasing all over the world. Many missions are controlled by the needs of people and many people are helping other people.
The world will cry out united in all ways, but God calls out to the world we can only be united in Him. This is the great stumbling block the world faces each day until they abandoned all to Him. Each mission has missionaries that hears a call to complete their mission. Who is calling and who is answering that call will determine the outcome and purpose of the mission and the identity of the missionary. God has His own view of what His mission is and who will complete His missionary work.
John 20:21 Again Jesus said, “Peace be with you! As the Father has sent me, I am sending you.” And with that he breathed on them and said, “Receive the Holy Spirit.”
Jesus tells us that His Father’s missionaries are sent out into the world by Jesus just as He was sent out into the world by His Father, and His peace will always guide them where ever He places them.
What most missionaries are controlled by are the needs of people but not the missionaries sent by God through Jesus Christ. The most controlling factor in a Christian’s mission is the Lord Himself. The goal for His children is to be true to Him, keep their eyes on Him, His purpose and His plan. He tells us not to keep our eyes on people, the circumstance, our plan, or our purpose. He will always expose what He wants us to see, hear and do to benefit all.
Today our personal attachment to Him and His view point is being overlooked more and more when we go on the mission field whether it is across the street, another state, or around the world. We forget the Cross, why He was crucified and why He saved us from Sin quickly when we take our eyes off Him, and Satan wants us to forget that.
One of Satan’s great snares is to put the needs of the people ahead of God’s call to the point that human sympathy for those needs become so enormous and the conditions so difficult we get our minds off Him and forget to draw people to Him and make disciples of all nations. That is something Satan does not want and many people fall into this trap. When we begin putting our sympathy for others ahead of God’s relationship is when we will get tired and weary by the overwhelming circumstances we are placed in.
God tells us through John to test all the spirits because not all spirits are of Him. If you know His Spirit you will know how He works in you. He will always test the other spirits around you if He is in you. If you have abandoned all to Him you have no control over Him testing other spirits because that is what He does when you have fully abandoned all to Him. When your soul rest in Him He works in and through you.
A true Christian will begin seeing through His eyes, hearing from His ears, and speaking from His words. Peter tells us not to be surprised at the painful trails as though something strange was happening to us. I was surprised at first, and I thought something strange was happening to me.
Because I was seeing, thinking, and speaking differently I began suffering the sufferings of Christ through persecution from false prophets. Most false prophets are living in deception and illusions thinking they are on the right path.
They are only faced with their deception when they cannot prove what they are saying through His Word and Spirit. It is up to them to accept His truth and reject the lie, and some do and some don't. It does not matter how severe the percussion is there are many kinds, and many levels.
1 Peter 1:12 Dear friends, do not be surprised at the painful trail you are suffering, as though something strange were happening to you. But rejoice that you participate in the sufferings of Christ, so that you may be overjoyed when his glory is revealed. If you are insulted because of the name of Christ, your blessed for the Spirit of glory and of God rests on you.
He also tells His children how they will know when it is the Spirit of God and the spirit of false hood or the anti-Christ. This testing of the spirits will be experienced in every reborn child’s life that has surrendered all to Him daily.
1 John 4:1 Dear friends, do not believe every spirit, but test the spirits to see whether they are from God, because many false prophets have gone out into the world.
Notice God tells us through John many false prophets have gone out into the world, and God will always expose them to you. I believe since then they have multiplied along with the growing population, and I do believe they will increase as time passes. He then tells us how we can and will recognize them if His Spirit is in us and we are focused on Him, and not human beings.
1 John 4:2 This is how you can recognize the Spirit of God: Every spirit that acknowledges Jesus Christ has come into the flesh is from God, but every spirit that does not acknowledge Jesus Christ is not from God. This is the spirit of the anti-Christ, which you have heard is coming and even now is already in the world.
This is a very powerful statement that most “Christians” today are afraid to proclaim. This means every person that has not acknowledged Jesus Christ has come into the flesh is a part of the anti-Christ movement. Today the media is full of truthful humanity stories that prove how great the human spirit is. There are many movies, books, and countless testimonies shared everyday elevating the human spirit and how hand in hand the human spirit reaches out to help one another, but they do not acknowledge Jesus Christ has come into the flesh and He has sent them to heal them spiritually, emotionally, physically, intellectually.
Spirits live in people and it is the spirits that make a person part of who they are. There are natural human spirits that will glorify themselves and other natural human spirits that elevate human wisdom, human strength, human knowledge, human understanding and human natural love. They are apart of the world and they listen to the view point of the world.
They are part of the anti-Christ. That is why Jesus says, “Pagans love Pagans”, what good does that do anyone. They are the blind leading the blind.
That does not mean His children will hate their enemies it means through His love they will love all people and pray for those that persecute them because of Him and why He came. They will mourn for them, they will bless them, and do good to those that hate them despite how they are treated because Christ saved them when they were strangers to His ways, thinking, and teachings before they received Him.
Matthew 5:43 “You have heard that it was said, love your neighbor and hat your enemy. But I tell you: Love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you, that you may be sons of your Father in heaven. He causes his sun to rise on the evil and the good, and sends rain on the righteous and the unrighteous.
That also does not mean a Christian will not be timid in acknowledging Jesus Christ has come into the flesh among any unbelievers or false prophets regardless of how the unbelievers or false prophets respond to the Christian because He and what He gives them is greater than them, and anyone in the world. There is no greater blessing in life than sharing the love of God from the Cross of Christ with another person whether the other person thinks it is a blessing or not His children know it is by all He has given them.
We can easily be lead thinking the purpose of our great mission is the elevation of the people, their education, their drinking of clean water, them getting enough food to eat, and them getting shelter. God says our first and foremost purpose is to lead them to Christ so He can make them disciples as He did us. When we do not share the gospel it only gives them a “quick fix” that will only last a short time.
A true Christian wants everyone to live an abundant life now in Him, be forgiven of their sins, and receive His righteousness. They want Him to begin working in everyone now if they are willing to take the first step with Him into eternity. That should be our utmost desire for ourselves and all people for His sake.
When one of His children belong to Him and they are own one of His mission trips through His Spirit they will never grow tried or weary they will be given life that overcomes their circumstances in a supernatural way.
Isaiah 40:29 He gives strength to the weary and increases the power of the weak. Even youths grow tried and weary, and young men stumble and fall; but those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint.
Moses was eighty when he led the Israelites out of Egypt because He was given the power to overcome all the circumstances the multitude faced for forty years.
All who came before and after Moses who God had chosen out of the world was less than His Son and His Given Spirit all His reborn children have received from Him. If Moses was eighty and could do what God called Him to do because of all the power God had given Him to do it. Moses only trusted God each step he took and he did not know what was ahead. I am sure when true Christians go out into the world to help others He will provide for them all they need to lead others to Him and He will get the glory and the praise.
Humans often give credit to human strength, human wisdom, human awareness, and human integrity, more than we praise Him or acknowledge Him. Humans love praising other humans to the point they forget God’s purpose and the Cross. That happens all the time when humans gather together and that is a snare all of us can fall into. When a true Christian is a missionary sent by God they proclaim it is the mind of God that He has given them that gives them their faith, love, hope, desires, wisdom, and strength. His divine guidance is always proclaimed through his true children that are willing to be taught by a Father that wants to teach them.
They are the one’s foolish enough to trust God’s wisdom and His supernatural gifts of Himself through His Spirit to work in and through them. They will never hesitate to give Him the glory, and the praise acknowledging Jesus Christ has come into their flesh to be poured out into all the world.
Who are you giving credit, praise and glory to will determine whose mission you are own and who has made you a missionary. Who are you giving the credit, praise, and glory to, yourself, others, or God through Jesus Christ our Savior and Lord? Are we acknowledging Him through all His Spirit He has given us in our flesh to glorify Him?
If the answer is not Him and you want it to be, then ask Him to give you the courage to step up and proclaim Him, Jesus Christ, as your Lord and Savior that has come into you to live more and more!
